Coming to us from Glashutte, A. Lange & Sohne have taken their benchmark Grand Lange 1 model and given it a dose of of funk with a semi-transparent dial, a la the Zeitwerk Luminous.? This pre-SIHH release is a limited edition of 100 pieces, all cased in platinum, and represents the first time the trademark outsized date will be luminous.It was just last year that ALS introduced the Grand Lange 1 with an entirely new manually wound movement - this time without the second mainspring barrel - to allow for a thinner profile.? The Grand Lange 1 Lumen's sapphire crystal dial allows for the wearer to see the large date mechanism working while keeping the hours, minutes, and running seconds fully legible.?
