Seiko Spirit SCVE003 Review
Have you ever fallen for something instantly and unexpectedly? It's happened to me with people, places, designs, and, in this case, a watch. Now it might seem strange that my love of this watch was unexpected, since Seiko is one of my absolute favorite brands, but if you had described to me a watch with a red-accented silver dial, 40 mm case with 18 mm wire lugs, and an off-centered 24-hour indicator, I probably would have given you a hard "PASS."? Thankfully instead, I saw it first C and here we are.Seiko Spirit SCVE003 ReviewCase: Polished stainless steelMovement: Seiko 4R37ADial: Silver/White with red accentsLume: NoLens: Sapphire crystalBracelet: Stainless steelWater Res.: 10 atm (330 ft)Dimensions: 40.5 x 47.3 mmThickness: 13.2 mmLug Width: 18 mmCrown: 5.5 x 3 mmWarranty: 1 year through Seiko, 2 Years through AmazonPrice: ~$200CaseAt 40 mm, the SCVE003's case is right in my sweet spot for a casual sports watch. Blue ROC in person seems quite dark
So got a chance to see the New Blue Dial ROC with silver sub dials...... am i the only one in the whole wide interweb that thinks the colour is a little dark/flat and almost navy in real life. I meant there are some amazing pictures out there of the dial but i didn't really see that translate in real life, maybe it was the lighting in the store but being a jewelry store the lights were plenty bright. Don't get me wrong its a beautiful watch but i just didn't see the pop in the dial color that i was expecting from all the pictures i've seen.
Hesalite vs. sapphire crystal, help!
I'm adding a speedy to my humble Rolex collection. 3750.50 is a legend and you can clean the scratches off the crystal. But I hear the sapphire crystal is more practical?!
Ready to buy an Omega
Hello all--Like most of you in the forum, my love of wristwatches has led me here and I am ready to buy my first Omega. Have checked out my local AD here in my province, and they appear pretty firm on their MSRP's (-10%)--there is not a lot of competition here.I am looking abroad for a competitive price on the PO 2200.50 or a Speedy Pro--am also considering a used or NOS 2254 (if they still exist). I am hearing about a lot of AD's Stateside that are willing to deal. Anyone out there who can point me in the right direction?BTW--thanks to all for the information that I have been able to pick up here.Dan
Questions about the aquanaut
So I'm interested in the 5167 as a possible option as the next watch and have a few questions about it... 1) It's 40mm- anybody with 6 wrists care to chime in on if it looks too big or not? I've heard this wears bigger than 40mm2) Tropical strap- how durable is it? Does it last as long as a leather strap? Does it get sticky where lint collects on it? Does it crack after awhile? Any problems or complaints with it?3) I've read around that the rotor is loud. How loud? I don't want my wrist to be making a noticeable whizzing sound during a meeting or something4) Is it easy to find a leather strap from say, Camille Fou and easy to put it on the aquanaut? What about adding on the clasp onto a leather strap?5) What does the dial look like- in some pics it looks like a fairly straight foward black dial and other picks it almost looks like it's got a black Rolex sunburst type look to it?AND regarding the 5167R...1) how dark is the brown strap?2) Is it easy to match up with clothes, for
