Let's talk about weird. There is a good weird, and there is certainly bad weird. Which category any particular "weird" falls into it highly subjective. On most accords this watch is weird. I mean look at it? It is unlike almost everything else out there. A one of a kind creation by Yvan Arpa's Artya brand, this watch belongs to the "Coup de foudre" collection which is an ongoing series of watches that have "lightning struck" cases - hence the "Tesla" part of the name. Basically, Yvan's shop employs the use of a large Tesla coil array. Electricity (which is basically lightning) travels between the two coils and the watch case is stuck in the middle. These pieces undergo wild transformative effects aided by artists who help engrave and colorize the metal. A lot of the cases that undergo this treatment are unusable, but the ones that survive are pretty interesting. I found an old UV black light lamp and aimed it at my PO. The thing glowed like it was plugged in. It was pretty amazing. All of the photos are short exposures - no long ones, so that may give you an idea of how bright this thing was glowing.Rob

Submariner exhibition at Rolex Shanghai (PIC HEAVY)
Hi guys,This weekend I visited that exhibition at the Rolex showroom on the Bund, especially dedicated to the Submariner. An interesting tribute to our dear Sub model I thought it would be interesting to share.The showroom is divided in 2 parts, the museum and the shop - which looks like a normal AD with the exception of a VIP lounge feeling where you can try regular and special models. special can be the novelties or the stone heavy ones such as Daytona full of gems everywhere and other pieces of questionable taste - that some local customers seem to appreciate. It's actually not an AD per se as it seems to belong directly to Rolex. Showing the models is the priority but you can also buy them.- and btw, like all other Rolex shops these days, no classic SS/TT sport model available. Nothing, nada, rien, 没有. Same stock shortage like anywhere else.But in the Nouveau Riche context of modern China, such a tribute to the Submariner was very nicely organized to teach customers

SubC 114060 Getting a lot of Compliments
I'm new to watches. I own two watches and one of them is a g-shock for working out and handywork around the house. I had a big year, both personally and professionally, and wanted to reward myself. Thanks to a lot of research and lurking on this fantastic forum I decided on a SubC 114060 that I purchased from a trusted seller back in August 2017. I love my SubC. It's incredibly well made and could be my only big boy watch for the rest of my life (who am I kidding )Since I purchased the watch I have received about 6 compliments on it from friends and work colleagues. One colleague said it's the most tasteful Rolex they had seen and that he was in the market for a Rolex. Another said nice watch, those go with anything.Another friend just said damn nice watch!. And it goes on...So all good responses and no outward jealousy, but it still makes me blush a little, and I'd be lying if it didn't make me slightly uncomfortable for others to comment on my watch. I wear the watch on my
