Another first AP thread! ROO Safari
I haven't been a long time AP lover, in fact I never considered one like some watches that I've wanted for years (such as a PP nautilus) but not too long ago I went into the only AD in Melbourne that stocks AP's and had a browse....didn't take long to want one more than any watch I could think of! I guess I don't see many, if any, around here and pictures just don't do them justiceThey happened to have a Royal Oak Offshore Safari and another model in stock that arrived the day before. The sales guy was actually surprised as he said they normally sell Safari's to VIP's before they hit the shelf and that they only get allocated 2 per financial year from AP (who knows how much truth is in that...they are salespeople after all)Anyway, told me the price...and that there are no discounts even though I'm a long time client since its such a rare/sought after model in Australia and they were confident it would sell for full price that week. A 2008 model year Omega has which 2500 movement? A,B,C,D?
I was looking to purchase a brand new in box Omega 42mm on bracelet at an awesome price. I was wondering if it contains the 2500C, 2500B, or 2500D movement?Are there any particular years that Omega modified the movement?The reason I ask is because I heard the later letter codes after the movement (ex. 2500D) are more reliable and have better technology involved.Thanks!

Patek Philippe Calatrava 5196G on my mind
I went to Tiffany & Co to view a 5196G today. Wow! Such a simple, beautiful, elegant watch. I wasn't totally sold on the Tiffany & Co stamp, so I am still trying to decide if I should purchase this one or go through a local AD that I would like to establish a continuing relationship with. Any 5196 lovers out there?

Hi, new to this thread. Don't know much about watches, but have been doing my research for the past few months and met with some rolex dealers. Planning to get one for my fiance as a wedding/30th gift but torn between the:Datejust 41 two tone with the champagne dial or the Sub two tone with the blue dial.
