I would have loved to be an automotive journalist in the early 1990s. One of the most momentous occasions of the decade was the release of the Lexus LS400, as well as the overall Lexus brand lowering into our lives like a gleaming vessel from mother-ship Toyota. The LS400 was the car that journalists said should make the Europeans fear the Japanese. It was more than just something for them to take notice , it was a justifiable alternative to European luxury cars, and a much better value.Anyone in the US knows the power of the Lexus brand these days. Shift your attention to me sitting here in a hotel room in northern Japan. I am in the midst of my invitational pilgrimage to Seiko, as I begin what will be a great many articles over the rest of my watch reporting career. I sit here with having a profoundly new perception of Seiko, a more accurate vision of the entire manufacture. If there is one thing that Seiko hasn't been able to achieve yet is mass communication of how good they are. I

My new 15300OR
I had to flip my 15400ST because it just was too big for me. Well I really like the Rose gold RO’s so I stopped by AP in Clearwater and they let me try on some 39mm’s and they were perfect. So I started the long search and finally found this beauty. I think it fits me perfectly. Came with box and papers and 2 year warranty. I know AP still makes a 39 in the Jumbo but man I wish they would for their whole line. I’d love to get an offshore in 39 or at least 40mm.

Those that didn��t make the 2017 cut
With 2018 upon us I recall 2017 saw 3 new watches join the collection. That said however with a firm 6 in the watch box it was nessecary to offload 3 in which to make way and I wanted to share a nostalgic pic of those that didn’t make the cut.CK2998. I really enjoyed this watch and if it wasn’t for the fact it was replaced with a grail it would still be in my collection. It may well come back one day however my preference has always been new and with only preowned left I fear it’s gone for good.VC49150. A fantastic piece however it was picked up preowned and the size of the Leather strap never really sang to me. That said it’s very under rated and I struggle why anyone would chose a Daytona over this model. A holy trinity brand that again made way for the grail. Whilst wearing smaller the 42mm size went against the 2016/17 39-41mm strategy.Drive. I lusted after this the minute it was released. However I need to be honest in saying I was taken in by the i
