On The Block: Three Modern (But Out Of Production) Watches To Consider From Next Week's Antiquor
I am often asked if there are any watches being made today that I would deem collectible in the long run. While the every day answer would be, “no, at least not in the same way that vintage watches are collectible” there are some exceptions. We are in something of a renaissance of watchmaking, with new materials abound, millions of dollars in R&D budgets, amazing technology, and more appetite for mechanical timepieces than ever before. So there are bound to be some watches that we'll look back at and say, "Yup, that was special."Here are three modern watches, all made within the last four years, that I genuinely believe have a chance at being collectible down the road, all for sale in Antiquorum’s sale next week. My newest addition - back to Omegas for a little while
Funny, my family has always been an Omega family. Dad, Uncles, Cousins all seem to gravitate towards Omega. I had a Seamaster Pro five years ago but since have been into a variety of Rolex, Breitling and others. Until Sunday when I picked this up from a fellow forum member and I have to say, amazing! Hopefully some of the troubling stories about the watch do not come to frution, but for now, I am blown away!Have a great New Years Everybody!

In the wild today....
In a 30 minute span while walking down Abbott Kinney in Venice Beach California today, I have seen a vintage looking AP (two tone I think), a Daytona ceramic white dial and a WG BLRO!!!! In just 30 minutes.I hope they all consulted TRF first about whether it was safe to walk around wearing these fine timepieces...I feel like a bum in my 116610LN right now.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yet another "is this too big?" thread - SD43 content
Hello, First off, thanks for a terrific forum. I have been a reader for years and feel like I have received a free education from the countless members who have shared their stories, expertise, and passion the brand. After years of dating the wrong watches I finally decided to settle down with the brand that I have always admired. I just got the call on the new SD 43 and before I pull off the stickers off I wanted to get some opinions on size. I have a 6.75 wrist and am about 6' tall. Big but lean, I guess? I wanted an everyday piece that would suit my lifestyle - lots of travel, snorkeling, swimming, paddle-boarding, and generally active stuff. I am not quite onboard with a sub or SD4K yet and so it came down to the SD43 or BLNR. (I know, very different beasts but those are the two that spoke to me) This would be an everyday piece and I spend most of my days in jeans or shorts and seldom wear a suit. So could you weigh in once more for the new guy? At first blush it feels a bit chu
