J. Crew Military Watch By Timex Watch Review On AskMen.com
This was honestly not the easiest watch to review. You think it would be simple, but you basically have a limited edition Timex that you are talking about - made for J. Crew of all places (watch style incarnate right?). Regardless of these surface level facts, is a lot more to this watch than meets the eye. You first need to understand a bit about it, and what went in to it. Timex was called upon by J. Crew to design a classic looking military watch that could fall smack-dab in the center of an Americana photo-mosaic. Like stylish jeans, the watch was meant to look pre-vintaged. Like your Vietnam veteran relative worn it during the last two months of their tour of duty, brought it home, put it in a tin box, and then handed it to you after all this time - in good condition by aged. The J. Crew Timex Military vintage style watch does have a value in today's America, especially because it is a product of today's America.Read my limited edition J. Introducing the 6B MK2, A New Pilots Watch From The Maker Of GasGasBones Straps
As most readers know, there's a lot of BS in the watch business-dubious claims, hyperbolic claims of pedigree and purpose, and breathless marketing hype. But Carl Evans is the real deal. He's the man behind the cult favorite GasGasBones straps and the fledgling watch brand 6B. There's a lot of chatter, interest, and controversy about British watches these days but 6B, and the latest release, the MK2, side step all of that with an earnestness and honesty that's refreshing.First of all, some background on Evans. He's a retired survival equipment fitter who put in 25 years with Britain's?Royal Air Force. During those years, he developed a love not only for Queen and country but also for the great planes of the RAF and the watches issued to, and worn by, the pilots. His work on parachutes, harnesses and other equipment gave Evans a skill in sewing nylon and velcro, which he put to use in his spare time making quirky tactical watch straps, first for Speedmasters and then for pretty much any

Omega Speedy VS Spectre SM300
Opinions - I know, apples and oranges but like the retro look of the new 300, however don't have a chrono in the group right now and my wrist is a little large for a Daytona which I've tried twice..Thinking Omega speedmaster pro 42mm Plexi of course.Thoughts from those who have gone both ways appreciated!
5 year evolution of a watch collection
i wanted to share the evolution in my watch collection over the last 5 years, it has dawned on me that I have come full circle back to the Daytona, the grail watch (black dial this time). It Seems like the perfect time to revisit the journey. hope you enjoy. In 1991 the Daytona was a Zenith version, it was impossible for me to find back then, I had my name and deposits with several AD in the nyc area. After waiting more than a year for a Daytona to surface, I gave up and decided to purchase my second choice, the Submariner 16613 Bluesy (E serial) new from Wempe on 5 ave in manhattan. The bluesy had become quite popular at the time.I went on to forget about the Daytona for 20 years and enjoy my Submariner, using it for any and all tasks as my only watch… then unexpectedly in 2010, a friend mentioned he had a guy who worked in a rolex AD, my friend told me this guy could make things happen… so I replied, if you want to test him, ask him if he can get me a Daytona? the call
