Bruce Willis Wears Hamilton Jazzmaster Watch in “A Good Day to Die Hard”
Action star Bruce Willis returns to the role of everyman hero John McClane in A Good Day to Die Hard, which opened in theaters this week. Keen-eyed watch buffs will note the timepiece that Willis wears in the film, which has been identified as a Hamilton Jazzmaster Viewmatic. Actor Jai Courtney, who plays McClane’s estranged son, also sports a Hamilton, the Khaki X-Patrol.Hamilton watches have been fixtures on the big screen for years, appearing in films ranging from 2001: A Space Odyssey to Men in Black to the previous entrant in the Die Hard series, 2007’s Live Free or Die Hard, in which Willis, as McClane, also wore one.In A Good Day to Die Hard, maverick New York City cop McClane travels to Moscow to come to the aid of his son, Jack, only to find the two of them in an international adventure that involves tangling with the Russian underworld and trying to prevent a war. McClane’s simple, classically styled Viewmatic fits his no-nonsense persona, while the more mod
ToykoFlash Kisai Intoxicated Watch With Breathalyzer
If you're even remotely familiar with TokyoFlash, you're aware that their design studio turns out some rather interesting pieces, with all manner of twists on what we'd call the "classic" digital readout. Today, they've jumped in with a watch that's ready to tell you when it's time to let someone else drive home. It is the Kisai Intoxicated, and it has a functioning breathalyzer incorporated into the design. Unlike the hoax Casio Breathalyzer that turned out to be a fake, this is the drunken deal. How is it that both of these came out in the same week?Yes, that's right - the Kisai Intoxicated contains a breathalyzer to give you a sense of what your blood alcohol content (BAC) is . The tube, such as it is, appears over on the right-hand side of the case, and you have to unscrew a crown to access it. In all likelihood you'll need to remove the watch to use it. To use this function, you uncap it and press the alcohol button (yup, that's what they called it) and wait for the sensor to warm
Daily Wear, Dual Time
Torn on this one and was hoping for input. Looking for a daily wear, dual time piece and was set to pull the trigger on the 5990. However, since I've recently acquired the 5905, I'm beginning to feel that the chrono function may be a bit redundant, especially since it's only a 60 minute timer which I find of little use for timing international air travel. Had a chance to try on the 5164, and found it to be remarkably comfortable. Although appearance wise I give the edge to the 5990, I am starting to warm up to the 5164 for it's versatility. The other choice was the BLRO in WG, which fills a void since I've regretfully sold my BLNR a couple of years ago. Given the 3 options- which would your personal choice be?If you have a personal favorite besides the 3 choices I've shared, I'm open to learning about it as well- but please remember to vote first out of the 3. Look forward to your reply!
Four Hands
I think I caught all 4 hands in the same area in a splattering pattern! Great weekend ahead to all our good friends here!
Panerai 512 price and thoughts - maybe incoming!
Hey guysNever thought I'd add a Panerai to the collection, but the 42mm 1940 (PAM512) is really growing on me. Thin, sandwiched, and transitional lugs with holes are all a big plus. Just not too keen on the faux tritium LL and patina, but I think the pros outweigh the cons. This may just be my first fun watch in a long time!List is $7800. Was this reference excluded from Feb's 5% price cut?AD offered 20% + tax on a Q serial. Do you think I should take the plunge or could better AD deals be had?
