Watches NEWS
Something weird has happened...
I tried on a Grey Side of the Moon Omega over the weekend and was totally impressed by it. I am still a devoted Rolex fan, but the GSotM is absolutely gorgeous. Anyone else here find this watch a worthy addition if all your other watches are Rolex timepieces?
WHat is the very best price youve ever seen 2531.80 for?
I have the opportunity to pick up a 2531.80 tomorrow. Lets say it is one of those rare oppurtunities that make you suspect that there is something really wrong with the watch.I have been assured that it was purchased from an AD, although the box and papers are gone the sales invoice is available.I have been assured that it has been worn very few times since bought new and that it keeps perfect time.My question is this... I was told the original sales invoice shows that the watch was purchased for $1200 in 1996.Does this even remotely sound accurate, I cant find any information pertaining to retail prices from that period.Again, my question is... what is the cheapest one of these SHOULD be sold for today in very good/ good condition? Thanks in advance...
Chrono flip side...
Sorry about the sweat stains but they get worn.

Greys - If you had to Guess %
Something occurred to me. First I will say that I am a big fan of the trusted sellers here. Particularly a nice fellow in Central Florida who has been good to me. Fair prices, fair trades, great service. Watches I would otherwise have to wait for. My question is this... what percentage of overall Rolex sales in 2017/2018 do you think go though greys? Of course, no way to quantify with real accuracy, so best guesses are ok. I'm curious.TRF is an relatively small group of hard core brand fans. We lose sight, I think, of the fact that much of the world does not know of or deal with grey dealers. So if the percentage is as small as I think it is, how can they allegedly have such an influence on the market and to justify the current poor AD availability and strategies?I hope this makes sense. If not, I'm sure I will hear it. My guess ...10% max.
