Movado SE Extreme Automatic Chronograph & Diver Watches
Remember Movado? Yeah, they are still around. The American-based watch company is still holding its own out there as a decidedly more quiet company with mostly a focus on points of watch sales rather than media and publicity. A few years ago, Movado created the SE Extreme collection which from the very outset was clearly an homage to the Hublot Big Bang. For 2014, Movado adds two new SE Extreme watches as the Movado SE Extreme Automatic Chronograph as well and the Movado SE Extreme Automatic Diver. And for what they are, they aren't too bad.I am just going to say it right now, Movado may as well have called these watches the "SExtreme" collection. Not that they scream sex or anything, but that is pretty much what the names look like after staring at "SE Extreme" for long enough. Let's be clear that in the highly conservative watch and jewelry industry, "sex" is not used enough in product names. I just wanted to do a quick post about my recent experience with AP in light of all the hand wringing about accuracy and movement issues. I sent in my RO for the 3 year warranty and to have them check the movement as it was running fast. Dropped it off on 7/28 and received the call today 8/15 that it is back and ready to be picked up. So three weeks max, including shipping both ways. Could not ask for more -- AP service is by far the best of all the brands I have dealt with. So, yes, my APs tend to run fast but if there is ever an issue AP fixes it no questions asked, and they do it pronto. This is why my next watch will be another AP. So if you like APs but the horror stories of movement issues are holding you back, buy what you like, enjoy it and stop worrying about 10 seconds here and there. Slow down, enjoy the watch and rest assured it will be fixed should anything go wrong.

Thinking of selling my 5711/1A?
Hi everyone. Debating to hold or sell my Patek 5711/1A blue for either 5712/1A or 5726/1A white dial. Is hard to justified for price differences? I do have a Patek 5065/1A. So similar? What to do??? What would you do? Thanks for any advice? Regards, Mike

Similar size/comfort/form factor to a Submariner?
I think I am going to stop fighting it. My 16610 is my favorite watch. After losing too much money flipping while buying/selling watches to add diversity, such as chronographs or dress watches, I think I am going to just stick to adding interesting watches that are pretty similar to my Sub. I'm talking size, comfort, and even the overall look/aesthetic (although it doesnt' necessarily have to be a diver).So outside of the obvious (another Sub), what would be some good candidates? Within the Rolex family I'm guessing it has to be either GMT or Explorer II, correct? Maybe even the Explorer I or OP 39?And any outside Rolex? The Tudor BB 58 seems close in this regard.

For months I've been wondering if the Ban was actually lifted. So this month I pulled the trigger and purchased a watch online from Germany. Fortunately, the seller came highly recommended by a German friend I work with in Dubai. So the same rules apply, Buy the Seller. I could have easily flown to Germany to get the watch. But I really wanted to test the process. Lessons Learn:1. Your Seller will require a few days to get the Export documents from his/her Country's Custom Authority. This delay may seem he/she is up to something, but in actuality their dealing with Government workers (I think we all know how that can be). 2. Your seller may hire a Shipping Broker to assist with the export/import process. I was his first online US Buyer, so he needed assistance. I paid extra for the service ($150-$200), it made things go smoother. The overall shipping cost including the use of the Export Broker $300. 3. The Shipping Broker used FEDEX. The watch departed Germany on a Monday, arrived i
