Audemars Piguet Long Term Value
I am very new to higher end watches, how do the AP hold their value over time. Like a Speedmaster is what it is, a Sub is what it is. Do the AP's tend to hold their value well longterm? I don't even know how old the brand is!steve
The first sratch. Very light but hurt so bad :(
My baby was in a bad mood and crying the whole night. This morning i was like walking in the moon and a walk through the door. Very light contact between the door handle and the watch. My heart skipped a beat. Now it has a very light scratch on the bezel. The scratch is on 3.30 oclock. I know some of you will kindly smooth me with adding character to the watch thing, but im kinda perfectionist freak. I can not surpass this and keep my eye off it.Now come a question:Im willing to pay few hundred usd for this to disappear. I know this scratch can be esialy remove by a good watchmaker since its very light. Can i make an appointment with AP service centrel in Singapore, bring it in and collect after a day with only that part polishing? Should i bring it to independent watchmaker that skillful enough to do so? In that case, he must located in Singapore as well since i dont have change to go anywhere else in short period. Will it void my warranty? The watch is only 4 months old. Thanks you guy
Please help in identifying vintage Omega
Hi guys. Just getting in to high end watches and don't know much about Omegas. I was able to buy a Rolex 1550 at a great price and now I have the bug. I found the watch pictured below at a shop while visiting my parents. I took a pic discreetly to not show I was interested. It looks like a sea master, although it doesn't say it on the dial like they do. Comes with original inner and outer box. The outer box even has the original price tag on it. I tried searching what I believe is the reference number in google but couldn't find much. Back of the box said Omega 6028R/3 17jOne pic below. Any info would help
PO Decision help
I recently sold my GMT2C and have been looking around for a replacement. In the past I had a 42mm PO and gave it to a business partner. Yesterday I found out it was stolen out of his truck about a year ago. I loved the watch, but found that I liked the oyster bracelet of the Rolex much more to my liking. But I am torn. In my search for a replacement I find myself returning over and over again to the Planet Ocean. I miss the lume. The lume on the GMT2 was great for about 5 minutes - the PO like a torch for a lot longer. And I love the versatility of the rubber and I just recently just started doing searches on the mesh - and I love the retro look! Plus the AR and the matte dial - 9 out of 10 times when I looked at the PO I didn't even know what time it was!So here is my dilemma - I have had larger watches (i.e. Panerai and a couple no name 47mm pilot watches) and while I do like them now and again it kinda drives me nuts having to stuff them under sleeves - especially in the winter (I am
