Lot 364 at Antiquorum’s March 4/5 New York auction exceeded expectations, bringing $2,096,000 including buyer’s premium. The lot included a silver keyless Zenith alarm pocketwatch formerly owned by Mahatma Gandhi and later given to his grandniece, Abha Gandhi. The watch dated from circa 1910 and it was accompanied in the sale by Gandhi's sandals, bowl, plate, glasses, images of Gandhi, and letters of authenticity from Gita Mehta, Talatsahid Khan Babi, and Professor Lester Kurtz.

Hello Fellow Rolex-ers,A brief background first. Always intrigued by the Datejust since I was a young boy, I'm presently 50. Always had one day dreamed of owning the Datejust. Specifically, a SS fluted bezel with Jubilee because I feel its such a classic timepiece and it was the one I had the pleasure of falling in love with as a youth. (actually it was a gold DJ.)
