Buying Watches In Saint-Barth: Diamond Genesis
Welcome back to an watches-dealer original series, where we discuss important stores that sell watches all over the world. Each store we profile has an interesting story to tell about where they operate and who they sell to. Whether you buy watches from brick and mortar retailers or prefer to buy watches online, these are the stores that help shape our watch culture around the globe. There is a long list of stores to cover, but if there is a retail location in your favorite city that we simply can't miss, let us know in the comments below.Where to buy watches in Saint-Barth?Saint-Barthlemy, often abbreviated to Saint-Barth in French, is also known as St. Barts or St. Barths in English. No matter what you call it or how you spell it, this tropical island appears like a emerald floating above a sapphire sea before you make the sometimes hair-raising approach to the tiny island's tiny airport. Once safely on the ground, in this Caribbean Overseas Collectivity of France, you are officiall
Ready to Purchase - AP ROC 26331. Now for some questions...
I am on the runway so to speak to obtain this piece (blue dial!) and I have never dealt with the AP boutique, an AP AD , or a trusted seller (e.g. DavidSW) on such a purchase. It's my first major high end watch purchase so I want to do this right. So, here are some thoughts and questions for the AP forum folks (and by the way, thanks for all of the education I've received in reading these many threads!)1.Want it shipped to avoid sales tax (so, other considerations aside, this leaves out the boutique as I live in NY). Unless the extra warranty period is worth paying the sales tax, and full retail price. Has anyone made this tradeoff specifically for their AP purchases?2.I am interested in finding the best deal possible. At least one AD emphasized (while complimenting my choice, of course) that it's a rare watch which I assume is their way of saying we can get one, but don't expect a discount (or much of one) . I'd be curious if any other forum members have had this experience. I have
AP at the Oscars!
Did anyone catch the AP RO Bracelet on Neil Patrick Harris' wrist. It sure looked great
Speedy Moonphase Revisited
So since I had a day to kill I took 150 mile round trip drive to the nearest Omega dealer to actually see this piece on my wrist as others have said it definitely wears smaller than 44.25MM and I got to see the black on a bracelet and the Blue on leather. Both are quite stunning in the flesh I might have went for the blue on a bracelet but I have this tremendous bias towards black watches anyway after trying it on and seeing it in the flesh I pulled the trigger on a black/bracelet should have it by Friday! Traded my SMP I just like the Tudor HBB too much to let it go.
Looking to get an Omega...
I've been shopping around for a used Omega for a while now and have narrowed it down to either:Omega Seamaster Chronograph 2225.80orOmega Seamaster America's Cup Limited Edition Reference 2533.50.00 I am tight on cash flow right now so the used market is my only choice now not to mention how much these babies depreciate after buying new right? So what are you opinions? I like the Chrono with it's beautiful blue face and skeleton hands and have owned it before but the America's Cup has that beautiful white gold bezel and black face and those sword hands glow like a searchlight...Let me know what you think and which one you'd prefer!
