Bring a Loupe: A Gorgeous Rolex GMT, A Rare Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar, A Rolex Tru-Beat Reference 6556, And More
This week will be dedicated to watches with complications. We start big with the Patek Philippe reference 1526, the first perpetual calendar produced in series, mostly during the 1940s. We will also look at a Rolex GMT with a killer bezel, as well as a Rolex Tru-Beat with a lovely ticking second hand. Finally, we've got a couple of examples of everyone's favorit complication, the chronograph, from a Heuer Carrera to a blue Hamilton Chrono-Matic. This is your Bring A Loupe for April 8, 2016. A Patek Philippe Reference 1526 C A Legendary Perpetual Calendar With Moon Phase 1 OF 9 The 1526 is one of Patek Philippe's most mythical references – it's the first perpetual calendar wristwatch ever produced in series, from 1941 to 1952. Has anyone ever contacted Francois Bennahmias?
Does anyone happen to have the email address for AP CEO Francois Bennahmias? I'm not selling anything. I would just like to write him an email about the AP watches I own. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates always read their own email. I'm hoping that Mr. Bennahmias does as well.
What do you think of Aquanaut models?
My interest being new to Patek Philippe as some already know, and my tastes being mostly in sporty/dressy watches, I look at Nautilus and Aquanaut models, but have to say don't think I would buy an Aquanaut, sure it's a nice watch but seems very basic in design, when the Nautilus has a very original, a little bit 70's style but cool enough to be actual.I think if I do get one day a PP I will prefer to flip a few watches that I don't wear anymore, add a few thousand and get a Nautilus, they have much more appeal to me, I understand if someone prefers the Aquanauts but in my case the preference goes clearly to the Gerald Genta designed cases. What do Patek fans think about these watches?
New Rolex Stickers
Hi looking for some advice please.I am collecting a new piece this evening to add to my collection and am very excited.I really want to try and keep it as new, but the dealer will not release the watch with the stickers on. They are saying that this is a Rolex rule.Is this true.I have never had this with PP or Tudor , but this is the first new Rolex that I have purchased in a long timeThx Scott
