Omega battery strap
Where and how can I find a replacement battery strap for an old Omega Case # 1455 watch? It's a tiny piece that holds the battery in place. I took it to my local jewelers and they told me the part isn't available. They suggested getting the entire mechanism replaced, which I think is over kill.
Advanced Research 5250 vs 5350
I recently had the opportunity to handle these two pieces, both sealed and for sale. The 5250G, a LE of 100 pieces, introduced the silicium escape wheel to a cal 315.The 5350R, a LE of 300 pieces, added a silicium hairspring to the cal 324, in addition to the sicilium escape wheel from the 5250.Interestingly they both have a magnifying glass slab added to the back side, similar to a Rolex cyclops.I know these pieces are very important historical timepieces. But do they have a role in a Patek collection with modern watches like the 5235 incorporating all the latest silicium parts?Which do you prefer - the 5250G or the 5350R? Or do you like the salmon dial 5450 or the perpetual calendar 5550 better?
Daytona Subdial Question
This may be a very dumb question but ill ask it anyways. On the 30 minutes subdial to the chrono, how come there aren't 30 hash marks? How is one supposed to read the number of minutes elapsed it it doesn't directly correspond to the number of submarks? For example, between the 30 mark and the 10 mark, there are not 10 marks and after the first minute elapses it doesn't jump all the way to the first hash marker.I have had several Daytona's over the years but never really paid attention and was now curious. How is one supposed to read the minute counter subdial? Thanks for any responses.
What my AD said....
I noticed that most people like to post what their AD says, so here is mine.We have seen an increase in sales of the professional line recently, but we don't know what why. This tells me 2 things:Everyone who posts about the stainless models being discontinued is wrong.Everyone reading this forum gets crazy and buys more.By the way, they have plenty of stock still, everything from subs, the the old sea-dwellers to the deep sea.
