Pairs Well With: Seagull 1963
Special thanks to?Z. D. Smith for putting together this edition of Pairs Well WithWhat makes the Seagull such an effective and pleasant watch is its understatement; it has got both military styling and a high-quality mechanical movement, but the details are subtle and neither the functionality nor the worksmanship jump out at you. In other words, it’s got a little class. At the same time, it’s a rugged, unpretentious watch and with its throwback looks and olive NATO band, it goes best with an outfit that communicates comfort and ruggedness. So the theme of the day is a union of understated, high quality with military and/or throwback styling.Seagull 1963Sunny Sports “1940’s Railroad” Organic Cotton Japanese Selvedge Chambray Work Shirt in Sumi ?Sunny Sports is at the very high end of Japanese heritage workwear. Crosswind got the "Oohs" and "Aahs" !!
Hi guys,Wore the Breitling to work today....and he got what he deserved....some oohs and aahs from the guys and gals at work. It's amazing how cleavages come to the forefront when a beautiful lass is trying to ogle at something dazzling on your wrist!!! All in all, the watch was met with much praise and admiration from one and all!! Now that I've got the chrono running (during wrist time at least), it looks so much better!!Cheers - Crazy JJ
5712 as a daily/only watch?
Hi all,I've have been considering consolidating my small collection into one Patek Phillipe watch and wearing it daily. I am looking at a steel version of the 5712 and was wondering if any current/previous owners could shed some light on the watch. As I have never owned a Patek piece before, I was wondering whether the 5712 could be worn as a daily watch and whether it could withstand daily wear and tear.Is the 5712 as scratch prone as the AP Royal Oak models? Also, I am concerned that the movement may be a bit too fragile for me to wear it on a daily basis. Thanks in advance for any help.
Flipping a Patek for a Lange and....
I never thought I'd sell my 5205G. But looking back over the last two years I've been wearing it less and less, perhaps less than any other dress watch. It's undoubtedly a beautiful watch but maybe it's elegance and the shape of the case pushes me off. I intended to keep it anyways and maybe in the winter time I'd find myself wearing it more often as I think it suits darker clothing better than light summer styles. So while I've been waiting for the PT Datograph to arrive I just tried on the Grand Lange 1 in WG black dial and am really smitten. I didn't expect to like the black dial but pictures really don't do the watch justice. It just sparkles in the light, it almost feels like there is no sapphire on the case. It has a the Lange 1 casual elegance which I really dig. Just feels right on the wrist which I didn't feel with the 5205. So I'm able to flip my 5205G for the Lange and as added extra a Pam 372 or 424 too. Am I being too impulsive and should I give the 5205 some mor
116610LN Flip Dilemma
Hello TRFStill a newbie, but find this forum super helpful. Sorry its a bit long..So a couple of weeks ago my AD called me and I bought a new 116610LN in time for Valentines. Happy days. It was bit of a surprise because when I signed up in December they told me I was #11 in line.. Turns out my wife, thinks the Ceramic bezel is too shiny. I am not going to wear it, preferring a steel bezel (EXP II shout out) and I already have a SD43 (very proud).Ultimately am in looking for a new beater (not a sub). I would consider trading the SUB for a new EXP II but want to see what comes out of Baselworld in March (Probably confusing the issue). The Question is should I flip now or wait? Looking at chrono24 they dont appear to be moving and some users are reporting Subs in AD display cases. Looking forward to anyone's piece of mind.
