Dreaming In Color: Daniel Dreifuss & Maurice de Mauriac Watches
I used to drive a Bentley, but I like this Fiat more. What other car has a turning radius like this? None! Daniel points this little fact out as he whisks me around Zurich in a very un-Swiss like driving manner. His finesse on the road fits the Italian lineage of the car much better than the conservative tone the bank city we are in is known for.Daniel Dreifuss, a Swiss native, has been in the watch industry for years. Like many people involved in the world of timepieces, it happened quite by accident to Daniel. His major foray in watches before starting Maurice de Mauriac was a thriving promotional watches business. This involved making special giveaways watches for companies often in relation to special events, and often to people in the companies themselves. One of Daniel's roles was to facilitate the design of such promotional watches to be inexpensive, but attractive (and fun) for the customers. He retains a museum of these watches and dials close to his shop. In these watch
Need Help from the AP Experts!
Hi all I am looking to purchase a 15400 silver dial. I will be buying a pre owned version. I have come across a 2013 model that is an H series. I recall reading on this forum (and I apologize I haven't been able to find it) the an earlier model (perhaps H.) had trouble with the clasp screws coming loose. I believe AP fixes/replaces the clasp at service but not sure?So is the H series the model with the troubled clasp. Should I wait until a new I or J series becomes available. I am not in a huge rush. Really appreciate your thoughts. Thanks all.
New RO chrono teaser on AP Facebook page?
Audemars Piguet Facebook page just posted a teaser video with this copy:Coming soon. A novelty from Le Brassushttps://.facebook/audemarspig...WSFEED&fref=nfIt is clearly a chrono RO, but it is little strange to announce new chrono and the SIHH RO novelties just hit ADs and boutiques...
If you want a 5131
I think you need to be fast.Unfortunately you can't get one from your dealer anymore since they are discontinued. But on the secondhand market something is changing VERY fast. These is a site .watches.de, a well known dealer across Europe, probably in the rest of the world too because he really sells the high end and very hard to get stuff. He had 3 (THREE !!!) 5131 Patek 5131 in stock. And is it not the kind of dealer that advertises watches he does not haveAnyway …. look how fast it goes15 dec 2014 - .watches.de/en/products/se...aled-5131g-01030 jan 2015 - .watches.de/en/products/se...e-sealed-5131ganother 30 jan 2015 - .watches.de/en/products/se...old-5131j-29083 PP5131 sold in just 6 weeks !!!!These 3 watches were for sale since 6 months or so and suddenly they are all gone.Do more and more people know these are discontinued and has the hunt for the last pieces begun ?If Patek will not make an R or P …. I think you need to pull the trigger
Show me your Watch Trilogy (that's less then $25k)
Earlier last year, I ended up purchasing the Omega 1957 Trilogy Set but soon realized the Speedmaster was the only watch I connected with from that series. I ended up selling the Omega Trilogy Set and purchased the watches below (Explorer I 214270 Full Lume, SD4K and 60th anniversary Speedmaster). So it got me thinking what a good trilogy set would be that covered all my needs at that $25k price point. I think I finally found my three but curious as to what others have or would recommend at that particular price point. Pics are appreciated!
