Piaget Creates Rare Beautiful Skeletonized Thin Mechanical Watch In The Altiplano Squelette
Skeletonized watches are popular right now, and named for the view (complete or partial) of the watch movement in the dial. Some skeletonized watches provide glimpses all the way through the watch, while others provide mere hints of the gears and mechanism which together power the watch. The reason skeletonized watches are popular is because they offer mechanical credibility. No one needs a mechanical watch, but its nice to know that your timepiece is a sophisticated piece of machinery, and there is no better way to show that than by actually showing you such machinery. The problem with many skeletonized watches is that they are limited by the actual mechanics of the watch. Meaning that gears, springs, and bridges must often be located in specific places to work. You cannot simply arrange them in an aesthetic manner all the time. Designers would love to arrange things with a sense of symmetry and style, but that requires significant complexity starting with the design of the movement. O
Planet Ocean Bezels
On the PO, the bezel has a sort of coin edge,I have noticed that some PO have bezels with grooves that are about every half second, but others where the grooves are every second. Was there a swap over point when this changed? Look at these 2 pics, hope they show the difference clearly enough.
OP 1940 Collection
Heads up, a few new 1940 additions on the list too...radiomir1940/en/home/I like the 512 (albeit 42mm), not so sure about the rest... 503... hmm...
Good or Bad Idea?
I lately have this STRONG urge to flip my 116610ln for a 126334 black stick jubilee. The proportions are perfect on the DJ (and though I love the sub, the it's proportions are a strong debate. I honestly can only have one or other. Most watch people say the sub will hold better value. I don't care about that as it is not a tangible rational. But the sub is a great (maybe perfect watch). Thoughts? Hold sub and appreciate what I have, or move on to DJ41? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What makes your AD special (or alternatively, why dont you like them)?
For me, besides the staff, I enjoy going there because drinks are always flowing and it is a real experience that is actually fun.
