1953 Seamaster restoration - good value?
Just after buying my first Rolex (through this site), I posted a question about whether it was bad to let the watch sit in a case and wind down frequently. I was sort of hesitant about wearing my grail watch every day. A few guys here talked me down and I now wear it all the time, and love it. I tell this story to point out that I now understand better what constitutes 'value' in watches like the Submariner. If you're still reading, please check this out.styleforum.net/t/277090/1...amaster/0_100#This watch caught my eye in a big way. As you can see, the watch has been pretty extensively restored. Can anyone comment about pricing on this? I did a search or two but couldn't get a clear indication of what a restored watch like this should be worth. If it's sold 48 hours after this goes up, I'll have my answer. If I'm going to overpay, I at least want to know I'm overpaying. I'll check for any responses after 10 pm EST tomorrow. Thanks.
Thirty hour time check!
And it's only plus one second Damn I love Omega
5204p
Greetings TRF,I recently had the chance of looking at a few pictures of a rather special timepiece made by Patek Philippe and I was tempted to post a thread about it. What I like about this watch is that it has as many good things as it has special and funny aspects (in my humble opinion, that is) I'd like to point out in order to make people think about it in the hope that this will lead to a very interesting discussion. Without further introduction, allow me to review the Patek Philippe 5204p.The case: When I started to admire the case of the 5204p, I thought it would be interesting to compare it with the watch's older non in-house brother, the 5004.Here are two pictures (which aren't mine) of the said watches to help my description.50045204pThe first thing I noticed while looking at those two watches was the difference between the crowns and pushers. Although I personally prefer the 5004's popped out pushers I think the ones on the 5204p really enhance what I think this watch repres
