Mid 90s Swiss Army Mecha-Quartz Chronograph?
A few weeks ago my Dad, an avid watch-nerd, brought to my attention a peculiar watch from his collection. The watch is a Swiss Army chronograph from the mid to late 90's that he believes was the first chronograph they produced, and one that was only available for a short amount of time. As far as looks go it's not particularly strange. It has the classic Swiss Army case design with a white face, and a fairly normal dial layout. What's weird about it is how it works. First, there is no moving seconds hand. The third sub-dial, which is located at 6, is a date index with a hand that points to the day, which is set by pushing a recessed button on the side of the case. This detail unto itself is fairly uncommon for a quartz chronograph, but what is really weird is how the chronograph works.When you start the chrono, you might find its behavior slightly strange. As some of you saw earlier this week it was a long day Wednesday waiting for fedex to arrive with my new jumbo. It barely fit so ordered an extra link...managed to order direct from Clearwater just before cutoff and they close for rest of year. What luck! Or so I thought.Arrives today and it doesn't fit in the bracelet. Son of a ... So much for wearing over the holidays since I now have to wait until January 5th to address it Anyway thanks for reading my whining. Hi all, pretty new to this forum - used to spend a good bit of time on TZ back in the day but this place seems way more active so I was happy to stumble upon it! Like many others I started with Rolex, moved heavily into Panerai and am now moving more and more into AP. Here's my current lineup:(previously had a Safari years back but found it way too uncomfortable for my wrist).Currently tossing around the idea getting the RG RC, RG ROO 44mm, FC ROO or tracking down an End of Days I wouldn't worry about wearing daily. I'd get rid of one of the APs above to keep it to three watches in the rotation. Any thoughts? Hope everyone's having a great holiday weekend here in the US!

Despite the seen or unseen letter from Rolex to dealers allegedly stating production cuts on SS models, the classifieds here and availability in a number of places tell a different story. More and more of these watches are starting to show up at many AD��s all over and in the classifieds these watches are dropping in price and more being offered.
