Auction Round-up: Historical Resurgence
The spring auction season has come to an end and in the horological collecting world as in the world at large, the flight to quality assets and the ascendance of Asia are dominant themes. As the price of gold climbs, so too do auction prices for the best pieces: rare Patek Philippe timepieces, especially vintage models – the gold ingots of the watch world, and unique, important historical pieces. Quality and rarity never go out of style. At Christie's May 10 marathon sale of nearly 370 timepieces in Geneva , the first 9 of the top 10 selling lots were vintage Patek Philippes selling for between $418,000 and $5.7 million. I want to pick up a leather strap/deployment buckle for a ladies aqua terra (34mm). Not sure if Omega sells these individually? If someone has a model number that would be great. Question about green submariner
Hey all,I'm new here so hey all, thanks to the forum for allowing me post here. Well, I've been looking for the Hulk and I havent been able to find one for a while - I'm located in SA Texas. It's been a while already so I have to ask, is this watch being discontinued? will they stop producing it? The reason I ask is becase the retail price is 9,050 dollars and I see it on the gray market for a lot more which makes me wonder, why? so I thought maybe it was discontinued. Thanks a lot!
Inventory at my AD.... and guess what...
My AD had sent my wife and I a gift card for a local resturant in the mail the other day. I responded with a thank you text and inquired about their inventory, after reading about all the lack of new products that this site has mentioned, especially in regards to the SS professional line. I also inquired about the Hulk and DeepSea JC pieces which are the top two that I have a shot of getting any time soon. She said she had a DSea JC in the store but it was already spoken for, but I could come by and see it if I wanted too.Well it turns out that yesterday afternoon my wife and I had gotten some good news after meeting with our Finanical Planner about how well our retirement planning was looking... So I took the wife out to dinner to celebrate and of course you can see where this is heading. We stopped by our local AD to see the DeepSea after dinner and a couple of drinks, and to make a long story short she said if you are interested I can put you on the list for the next one, you woul
