The Triple Crown Winners’ Circle Watch: Longines Conquest Classic Moonphase
If you watched this year’s Triple Crown horse races and witnessed American Pharoah’s thrilling, historic victory, you may have been wondering which wristwatch was presented to the winning jockey by official timekeeper Longines. If so, wonder no more: it was the Longines Conquest Classic Moonphase, which debuted at Baselworld 2015 and added a new complication to the Longines Classic Conquest collection. Scroll down to learn more about it.The Longines Conquest Classic Moonphase continues the brand’s recent revitalization of the historic Conquest watch line, which was first patented in 1954 and now includes the vintage-inspired Conquest Heritage family. The design of this watch, Longines says, was influenced by the refined elegance of equestrian sports; Longines has been a sponsor of equestrian sporting events since 1878 and now serves as timing partner to the Triple Crown races. The new watch has a diameter of 42 mm and contains an automatic movement, Caliber L678, made
Gwyneth Paltrow Joins Baume & Mercier Family
Gwyneth Paltrow has joined Baume & Mercier as a friend of the brand. The new relationship kicks off with an exclusive cocktail party at SIHH in Geneva on January 17. The multi-talented Oscar-winning actress recently sang her way into the hearts of a new generation with her rendition of Cee-Lo's Forget You on Glee, and she made her live singing debut performing the title track from her movie Country Strong on the CMAs. Though Paltrow will not be lending her face to advertising campaigns, she will work with Baume & Mercier on various projects, most likely centering on the brand’s Hamptons line. Paltrow has a summer home in the tony resort town town for which the line is named.
Hands-on with the Kent Wang Art Deco
Before getting into Kent Wang's new Art Deco watch, one first needs to know two thingsobviously, who and what is Kent Wang, and what is the Art Deco period. Kent Wang is a brand named after its founder. KW got its start in 2007 when Mr. Wang, frustrated by the lack of well-priced pocket squares, decided to take matters into his owns handsor pockets as it were. From there, a brand of refined and classic men's clothing and accessories emerged. From ties to bespoke suits to a couple of watches, Kent Wang is nice alternative to mainstream stores for higher-end dress wear needs.Art Deco is a visual style that followed WWI and lasted through the 40's (roughly until WWII). It's a bold style that combined elements from the Craft period and Machine age. Ranging through all media from objects to graphics, and notably to architecture, Art Deco is defined by bold geometry with an eye for symmetry and flow, a use of strong colors and highly detailed decoration. There are many existing examples of
Omega Speedmaster Date NATO
Just purchased a nato for my 3511.50. I live the detailed omega bracelet but I thought this would look kinda neat for a change. Took the pic in the PM so the date is in the process of changing.
FINALLY! Incoming!
As some of you might know, I posted on this forum here, asking for help, trying to choose between a 111 and 000. Thanks for the suggestions guys, you certainly helped me make up my mind! But first, a little background...Four years ago, I'd been looking at possibly getting a Panerai. I registered myself and was an ardent lurker on the Paneristi forums. Lurk, lurk, lurk, lurk... save, save, save, save... finally, I had the resources to pull the trigger on a Panerai. I had decided then to go for the Pam176 - I liked the titanium build, and its clean dial appealed to me. So I started the hunt for a used 176, but just my luck... nothing came up in my searches on Paneristi. So I moved on to other forums, TRF being one of them. Naturally (and especially since this is a Rolex forum), I deviated and started getting interested in the Submariner instead. All of a sudden, my interest had suddenly taken a massive turn. Two years of careful research seemed to have been flushed down the drain! I spen
