Introducing: The Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe, Now With A Plasma Grey Ceramic Case
The Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe is not the most complicated watch in Blancpain's collection. But it may be the one it's the most attached to. The first diver of the modern era, it was backed heavily by diving enthusiast and then CEO of the brand Jacques Fiechter. For that reason, Blancpain has been approaching its beloved icon with some caution, making only subtle changes over time. This latest variation brings the introduction of a plasma gray ceramic case C a material which looks like brushed stainless steel, but is in fact a much lighter, harder and stronger substance (and much more resistant to corrosion than stainless steel, which can pit if exposed to salt water and not rinsed properly). 1 OF 3 Blancpain experimented with the material in 2014 with the release of the limited edition Bathyscaphe Chronograph Flyback Ocean Commitment, and they gave the Fifty Fathoms a satin-brushed black ceramic case 12 months later.Blancpain have now adopted the grey version for the mode
USAF limited
I was wondering what value this watch has. It is 27/50. Says not for sale on the baok as well. I did find there was a 500 limited run but this is not one of them. Any ideas as to value on such a small run of 50 timepieces ?
Orbis Blue?
Is there any word on when the Omega Orbis Blue version of the Hour Vision announced at Basel '11 will be available? Thanks!
A vintage Speedmaster Xmas treat
Look what I found whilst digging around in the wilds of Brisbane yesterday, this classic 1969 Speedmaster with the 861 movement. Incredibly, she is running and keeping excellent time but a little rough around the edges and needs a tidy up as well as new chrono pusher (not to mention ditching the Seiko band) but the movement is remarkably clean. This is the way I like to find them, tool box fresh, a great project piece, a great find It came from the original owner who had owned it from new and there is great story that goes with it, which I will add at a later date if he is ok with it.
Thought on yatchmaster 116655
Anyone here wear 116655? It seems this watch does not have enough love here. Anyone can suggest how much discount do I need to ask for this piece? Does this piece also getting rarer like any other sport rolex? Thank yoi
