Trip to the boutique
Was off from work today so I decided I wanted to take a look at my grail. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1362425100.916324.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1362425146.616296.jpgThis watch makes me want to sell off a few and get one preowned. I've only tried on the 15400 before and liked it! But this!!! Wow in love...
Z-33 opinions
I stopped in at the Omega Boutique in Roseville California this evening and saw a really neat, futuristic looking piece in the window. Being a huge fan of sport watches and owning only divers, I thought I'd wander in to try it on....it turned out to be the Z-33, a titanium cased, battery powered chrono.I loved the style and feel, but the price surprised me a bit: $5,900! What do you guys think of an asking price that high for quartz? Is there any justification other than for the price?
5711 now more expensive than 5712 at auction
sothebys hosting their first watch auction of 2018 today.. 5711 from 2008 sells for $61k USD5712 from 2006 sells for $56k USDboth are in comparable 'used but good' condition, and are both over a decade old. thought anecdotally interesting given the steep rise in 5711 prices since the 40th anniversary, though perhaps the 5711 has been the more popular piece for a while now. 5711: .sothebys/en/auctions/.../lot.2775.html5712: .sothebys/en/auctions/.../lot.2777.html
Walking the White Side...PAM 113
I shared my new rugged Pam 024 Submersible, now for the more refined Panerai PAM 113. I'm a sucker for White Dials, so out went my white IWC AT 2000 and in comes its replacement the PAM 113. The dial is a Bright White which I love, the filter I used soften the dial color a bit. I almost grabbed a Pam 114 but I kept leaning towards having the third hand so the 113 it was! Now I'm going strap crazy and must reign myself in!
