Today, we're speaking with Serge Michel, who is the owner of Armin Strom, an independent watch brand that we've featured on these pages quite a bit.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Serge Michel (SM): Serge Michel, Owner of the independent watch brand Armin Strom.ABTW: When did your fascination with watches start?SM: As a child, being one of the first Swatch-Club collectors. I asked my parents for my first watch at 6 and, by the age of 10, I owned about 12 models. I would wear a favorite for a few months and then be ready for a new one. Of course, the one with the transparent case back was my most favorite.ABTW: What was your first grail watch?SM: That's hard to say, as I've fancied so many watches over the years. This is not going to end well. Ever since I laid eyes on it recently it has haunted my very existence, taunting me and beckoning to me with its perfectly polished bevels, its tastefully naked movement, and its slender golden hands sweeping around its body like a burlesque dancer shyly and unsuccessfully trying to protect her modesty.It doesn't help that I visited an AP Boutique who told me yes! It's your lucky day! Lucky that they had one to show me, but unlucky because that example was already paid for. Now that I've fondled it there's no going back. I have to find one (from an authorized dealer, hopefully)! Anyone have any good leads in the Taiwan or Hong Kong areas?

Incoming for my better half
Well, I finally get to post this incoming for my wife. She eyed this one a while ago and it's finally time for her birthday gift. I've had it hidden away for awhile and did post anything because I didn't want to chance her seeing the post :). I'm just waiting for her to get home. I'm probably just as excited as she will be. Colorful snoopy is watching it carefully. She is a collector of snoopy and a great reason I picked up a silver snoopy for our wedding renewals.

First (and only) PM - Day Date or Gold Sub / GMT?
Probably the only time I'll have funds for it...so what do you go for, and why? I own a 16710 and the Hulk, if that makes a difference. Thanks!
