Cal 3120 Reliability?
I'm looking to get another watch within the next year or two and I know it will either be another Rolex or an AP. I would love to have a 15450 but the only thing stopping me are some of the issues I've heard concerning the 3120 movement, mostly with the date setting or the crown breaking off. Are there any issues I should know about or are these just isolated incidents?
AP 26320 TPD required
Ok guys so I've finally pulled the trigger. I'm getting the AP 26320 rose gold (silver dial) on leather strap. Paid advance token money today and will be getting my watch in september .. I'm excited, can't wait!!! Will be posting pictures on a incoming thread when I get it :)So I will be putting the watch on a winder, does anyone know what are the turns per day required and in which direction to wind the watch. I was trying to search on google but didn't get an answer. I know I know its too early to be asking these questions but want to know before it arrives. Thanks
Any 5550P owners on TRF?
Hi all, I am currently saving towards a 5970G (I prefer the dial over the 5970P's black. Though I would much rather have a platinum to match the 3970P in the box, I just can't do the dial.) And the 5970J and 5970R don't really peak my love for PP perpetual chronos in white metal. This being said I was curious if anyone out there had a 5550P because, though it would delay a 5970G, the size, shape and thickness (or lack there of) really appeal to me and I loved the 5140P when I spent time with it (but don't care for the blue dial..though I love me some white/silver dials with blue straps..)Anywho if there are any 5550P owners out there if you could share your experience, photos are a must, and even perhaps a little video (because there are none). Thanks much! ''
Incoming... strap.
I've been experimenting with different strap options for my GMTC. Bought a couple Natos and liked them, but really wanted something unique to me. A little bit of googling, and stumbled across Aaron from aaronbespoke. Sent him a basic cad drawing of what I wanted (after 19 emails), picked materials and voila! Custom strap to match my 116710LN. Its Alcantara with a leather back. Haven't mounted it yet, but couldn't resist a pic of what it's going to look like!Highly recommended. Great company to deal with. Will post photos once I have it all together!R
Remembering my first and celebrating my last Rolex
I was never really into watches or in fact any form of jewellery. My first watch was a birthday gift Timex which I wore as a child for a few months before losing it. The second watch I ever bought was a Longines lady quartz watch for my wife in which to celebrate a new job, she loved it and wore it every day and when I got and even bigger break in 2008 I vowed to get her something more expensive. This was my first introduction to Rolexmmedia/Mobile%20Uploads/22E6DFBC-7CE1-40F6-928B-423D34C224D5_zpswzx6m95s.jpg.html" target="_blank">18months later she persuaded me to get a 116234 and whilst initially reluctant to wear anything on my wrist I, after 4 years of daily wear therein started my journey with TRF and luxury watches. I've had the good fortune to own and wear many fantastic brands and still own some today. In a collection of 8 (2 of which are owned by my wife) I/we own 3 Rolex and 5 other brands. 3 rolex keepers from a total of 12 Rolex and 22 other brands that have passed thr
