Very nice store.Saw some awesome pieces. The platinum tourbillon chronograph is unbelievably heavy. My FC on the right. Interesting to see how the bezels are finished differently.
Breitling Emergency size/impressions
I'm seriously considering purchasing an original (not II) Emergency, yet I've never held one nor seen one in person. It's kinda of hard to purchase a watch without having a feel for its dimensions or trying it on your wrist. But that is what I get with an E as cannot find one at my local AD.For those who have an Breitling emergency in your collection, I would appreciate seeing some photos of E next to a Rolex SubC/116610 (or similar). I have a 116610LN, hence that choice.A face shot of the two next to each other, and a side shot showing relative thickness of the two watches.Any wrist-time impressions you might have are also appreciated. Do you feel the large antenna at 5 o'clock is a bother while wearing (pokes at wrist/back of hand), or share other pros/cons. Do you enjoy wearing it daily, or due to bulk doesn't get much wrist time from you; other tid-bits you can share.
PROPER INTRO WITH PICS - of some my OMEGA faves
Greetings Gents: I have collected since 1995, and though am currently in the Netherlands (as a result of my dual Citizenship I frequently travel back to the US) - I have gone through many phases, but mainly Omega and Rolex, as well as various 1950s-80s historically significant divers. Some obscure divers as well from: ZRC Etanche Grands Fonds ca. 1960 (6 o'clock crown & Nr. NOS), Aquastar ca. 1962 (Deepstar GEN 1: VJ 23 MINT, GEN 1 Aquastar Benthos 500 Nr. MINT) Aquastar Regatta NEWPORT ca. 1980 (Lemania mov't, TRUE NOS), LIP Nautic - Militar 1940s (MUSEUM QUALITY on original leather band, incredible speciman) LIP Nautic Ski ca. 1965 (electric R 184, dual crown, compressor, MINT), EPSA compressor cased watches of various types, Alsta watches, yep the Jaws movie watches etc... and even transitional Heuer-Tag Heuer ca. 1985 ref 510.501 PVD Chronographs with Lemania's celebrated 5100 (Nr. MINT), ZENITH Defy Gauss ca. 1971 ( MINT, 1/2000, screw-down crown, 200m WR, exact spec to Role
New Year's Patek Rumor Mill
Happy new year Patek sub-forum readers and I hope you had a wonderful end of year. I wanted to see if we could discuss (for what's it worth....) a few rumors I've been seeing/hearing along the way in 2016, and feel free to add any others you may have come across. 1. Discontinuation of 5131R Enamel World Timer: The rumor is that this reference could be discontinued and Patek may introduce something with no crown guards and in-line with the new 5230 world timer, putting an end to the enamel dialed WTs altogether. Perhaps we should seize the moment and acquire the 5131R now!? 2. New 5170P Manually Wound Chronograph: The rumor is that Patek may release a white or silver dialed chronograph with black subdials (panda) in a platinum case. 3. Discontinuation of 5235 Annual Calendar Regulator: The rumor is that this reference will be discontinued due to production complications. The reference took a fairly large hit (along with other current catalog offerings) in the secondary market but disco
Clearwater, Florida Estate Watch shops?
Hey TRF members, I'll be in Clearwater early next week for 6 nights. Any estate watch shops to take in? I'm partial to modern Rolex and Omega brands.
