A Week On The Wrist: The Longines Heritage Military COSD
Longines has been a Value Proposition favorite for very good reasons: thanks to their history, they have a pretty fantastic repertoire of great designs and historically important watches on which to draw, and the Heritage Longines watches are such an inexhaustible supply of great looking, reasonably priced vintage watches that I’ve often been tempted to just do the whole collection in one go and save you the trouble of reading a dozen different stories. However, sometimes a watch really is worth a stand-alone look-see, and the Heritage Military COSD is one of them. 1 OF 8 The short version of the story is that the Military COSD is based on a watch issued to the British military – in particular, paratroopers – during the Second World War. As such it looks to have been a very, very straightforward timepiece, designed for two objectives: economy, and sturdiness. Advice on new purchase
Really like the Avenger II GMT, close to purchase new from AD. Blue dial, blue rubber strap, competitive price. Would like input from members here on the watch and Breitling in general, as this will be my first of the brand. Reliability is the main quality in a watch for me, followed by accuracy and durability. The B32 movement is a modified ETA movement used in several other GMT models, any comments on that? My Rolex's have spoiled me. Thanks for your comments.
Strap for my 1970s Seamaster
Hi there people,I'm currently looking to put my 1970s Seamaster on a leather strap, probably a military style cuff bracelet. The problem is, the gap between the lugs is very narrow, possibly 10-12mm, so what I'd like to know, is where can I find a bracelet to fit?I've attached photos in case my description is unclear. Thanks!
Can I pull this off?
Ok, here we go, Ruud Van Indecisive strikes again. I was passing the OP boutique and it was rude not to call in for a mooch. I guess I want to be sure before pulling the trigger on my final PAM. My man pulled out a couple of divers and my eye was really caught by the 389 and 615. The added bonus of these references is the ceramic bezel; personally, I would avoid the new 692 on the basis of a non-ceramic bezel. I like the quirkiness of the Flyback but it bothers me not having a date. In comes the 389, which has a date. I would love either of them and both are very different to what I already have. The 389 is about S$8,000 cheaper (GB4,500, US$5,600), which is a factor but no deal breaker. What puts me off the 615 is the significant extra service cost and the possibility of the chrono hands becoming misaligned over time. Anyhoo, what you guys think? Firstly, can I pull off a 47mm diver and which one looks the business?
Watch is loose on wrist all of sudden
Hey all. First post but have lurked for a while. I have a Black Sub with no date. It's got the ceramic bezel with the folding safety clasp. My wife bought it for me as a gift a couple of years ago while she was in Geneva. I've worn it everyday ever since. Love it. So yesterday I noticed the watch is much looser on my wrist. I can spin it around on my wrist. At first I thought it was in my head but it's been driving me nuts all day today. I went so far as to weigh myself to see if maybe in lost weight. Nope. Steady at 192 pounds. It seems like it's about a half link looser. I remembered that while hunging my wife the day before yesterday, I heard a snap from my watch. Like the clasp engaged. Thought nothing of it but now I think maybe the clasp adjustment moved. Is it possible that the clasp adjustment moved? Is this easy to adjust back? Can you direct me to online instructions how to?
