The third edition of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Yearbook features the manufacture’s brightest stars of 2009. The Yearbook includes articles by leading authors and casts its spotlight on nature, music, filmmaking, and of course on watchmaking. The edition celebrates the 80th anniversary of Calibre 101, still the smallest mechanical movement ever made. It probes the Hybris Mechanica 55 trilogy, uniting 55 complications within three wristwatches. It takes you inside the Hybris Mechanica �� Grande Sonnerie, with 1300 parts capable of playing the entire Big Ben chime. Yearbook Three is available in English and French versions from all Jaeger-LeCoultre boutiques or at jaeger-lecoultre as of December 1.

Hamilton Khaki X-Patrol Watch
Ah, now here is a slide-rule bezel complication that I can use. I tend to make fun of these as I am not about to do long-division or calculate fuel consumption on a tiny slide-rule, if I need to figure that stuff out at allBut this one is actually handy. This new watch for 2012 from Hamilton is the Khaki X-Patrol and it has a metric to imperial conversion scale. That would prove useful as I often travel to Europe and having no idea how far things are and how much things weigh. I am such a proud American. It isn't going to replace a calculator, but in comparison to most slide-rule bezels out there, you'll probably use this one at least once in a while.The name of the watch sounds like it was made for some make-believe military force, but it looks pretty cool. Quite honestly, I never even considered this brand to add to my collection. While I've stared at pics on this forum and have always thought they were eye catching when seeing them in the wild, it never occurred to me to try them on...always thought they were too big for my wrists that were used to 40mm watches.Then I tried this on one...Definitely larger than what I'm used to but somehow it works! Even tried on some other 42mm refs but it just didn't have that decidedly Panerai look and feel. Will need to try on the PAM510 and the PAM572 but this 560 is really calling out to me - clean & undeniably Panerai. Enabling pics and words of encouragement welcomed!

Couldn't be happier to have purchased my first Rolex from an AD today. Was torn between multiple models from the DJ41, Explorer 1, to the BLNR finally landed on the Sub date and I picked it up around 1 today. Totally understand why this is such a historical piece.
