Disney's Tick Tock Tale Short Film
Thanks to a Facebook friend I was able to learn about this new animated short film from Disney Animation called Tick Tock Tale. It is one of those shorter cartoons that will play before a feature length movie - just like Pixar (also owned by Disney does). I am excited about this for a few reasons. One, I love to see pop-culture fascination with timepieces, and two, it is actually animation by Disney again! About a decade ago I heard news that Disney vowed to only do computer animation moving forward. Which in my mind basically was a deathblow for traditional animation. Animation would get simpler, cheaper, and the lush scenery and production values we know from mid 20ths century Disney stuff would die.Disney was more or less dead for a long time in the animation department. Instead relying on Pixar to create new content, and itself only banking on existing characters. Maybe that will chance. I am happy to see that a department called "Disney Animation" even exists! Not sure when Tick To
Jenny Caribbean 300 Review
The history of dive watches is a labyrinth of design and engineering from brands both large and small. Tracing the modern diver back to the mid 20th century you have big players, such as Blancpain and Rolex, creating what are now icons alongside of smaller brands that were? forgotten and others that today have achieved cult status. Some of these brands made icons in their own right, such as Squale and Zodiac, or made cases for other brands that defined a style, like EPSA with their Super-Compressors. Today we're going to take a look at a brand that is far more obscure, though they were on the forefront of dive watch innovation in the mid-twentieth century and have persisted in the background until today; Jenny.Founded in 1953 by Paul Gustav Jenny, Jenny & Cie S.A. was a brand that was focused on diving technology. Their line of watches, known as the Jenny Caribbeans, quickly raised the bar for water resistance, claiming to have created the first 1000m diver, the Jenny Caribbean 100
The Value Proposition: The Archimede Pilot 39, With Untreated Bronze Case And Workhorse ETA Movement
Drive north from New York City and in about two hours you’ll arrive at Dia:Beacon, one of the finest collections of contemporary art around, in a remarkable setting on the Hudson River. Hopefully, while there, you’ll have a surreal encounter with "Crouching Spider" – a massive sculpture by artist Louise Bourgeois. What exactly does this have to do with watches? Well, "Crouching Spider" uses bronze as a key material in its construction, the same metal used for the case of the Pilot 39 from German watchmaker Archimede. And it just so happens that the Pilot 39 has the right balance of conservative proportions, elegant case materials, and sporty design details to make it the ideal watch for a low-key weekend away. Plus, it comes in at just under $800. 2 OF 8 The dial is really legible, with bold arabic numerals and thick minute indexes. The bronze case of the watch we borrowed from Archimede has already started developing a patina, a
Are there any RO with company insignia or heads of state models?
Is their any AP's that are aligned with any companies like Rolex did with Dominos, Comex, etc?Or any made for heads of state with royal crests?
Switzerland Patek Pricing?
Hi all,I may have business trip to Switzerland next month. How does Patek (and Rolex for that matter) pricing there compared to US pricing? Besides sales tax, enough of a delta to make a difference? Thanks,Lee
