Watches NEWS
BEST FROM: watches-dealer & Friends April 12th
Round-Up By Kenny YeoWelcome to the very first edition of watches-dealer's twice a month round up special. Two times a month, I round up the best watch articles and reviews from watches-dealer and from around the internet for your reading pleasure. Here are my picks for the first half of April.1.? Bell & Ross Aviation Instrument Watches 2013For the past couple of years, Bell & Ross has released a couple of aviation-themed watches based on their signature BR01 case, and this year is no different. 2013 will see three new aviation-themed watches. The three new watches are named Airspeed, Heading Indicator and Climb, and their names are a good indication of which cockpit dial provided the inspiration for the design. Powering these watches are ETA movements.Although these watches are not the first word in legibility - especially the Heading Indicator - they stay true to Bell & Ross' older aviation-themed watches such as last year's Altimeter and the older Radar. Patek Philippe at Tiffany & Co.
I visited the opening of the Patek Philippe Salon and Museum show at Tiffany & Co. in New York yesterday. I highly recommend a visit if you are in the NY area as the museum is only there through Saturday, it will also be show in Beverly Hills in May. Many beautiful and historic pieces as well as the new Patek Philippe watches announced at Basel 2008 were all there..pbase/treacle/pp_tiffany
Pam 24 Submersible ready to Dive!
I used the weekend to grab a few pics of my new Panerai 24 Submersible. This is so much more wearable than my Pam 104. The brushed bezel screams wear me, which I did not do much with my other Pam. This one will be in my normal rotation and not reserved for special occasions. I think I'll go diving... in my back yard to the great depths of 6 feet!
GRAIL or FAIL?
I was thinking about the first Rolex I ever owned (DJ 16220) and that it wasn't what I expected after yearning so many years. The sports models scratched that itch eventually but I was wondering how many others out there got that grail piece then realized it was more of a fail ?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
4161 Movement Details?
Been poking around for more info on the 4161 movement. Seems hard to come by. Would love to know more about the technical bits of this one, beyond the marketing hyperbole (36,000 hours to develop, etc etc).Anyone seen anything out there?
