The partially frosted subdial obscures the moon’s passage so that only its current phase can be seen. It shows two convex spherical moons, which appear and disappear in keeping with passage of the 29.5-day lunar month. This subdial is 13 mm in diameter.Around this subdial is a simple date display. To complete the calendar, the day and month are shown on two skeletonized disks in the top half of the dial, which turn to show their current values just beneath 12 o’clock. The case middle has four integrated buttons that can be used to correct the calendar. x-post from the omega forum (from July) where I initially asked for some more info about the following watches:This weekend I visited my parents when I noticed a speedmaster in my fathers watch box that I did not see before.Below you find the pictures. It still works and the dial and hands appear to be in great condition. My father told me he got it from my uncle some years back. Because he was under the impression that the watch did not run anymore - nor did he know the 'heritage' of a speedy he never wore it.After I told him the basics I knew about the watch and asked some members on another forum I visit (thanks mark020 for your replies) I know now it is from 1969 and it is an post moon. Erratic behaviour of my 5712
Hi there,I have a question for you. I bought my 5712 (new) a few months ago and the watch was running perfectly (less than a second of deviation per week) until a few weeks ago. Since a few weeks, my 5712 is having a strange behaviour... The watch runs perfectly for 5 to 10 days (I check almost every day with an app that is synchronized by an atomic clock) and then the watch loose 2 to 10 minutes in a day!!! For example, my watch was perfectly synchronized last night (less than 3 seconds of difference with the atomic clock) and it was 4 minutes late around 2pm today!! I didn't check it this morning but I am sure that I was still synchronized. Any idea of what could be the problem ?? Could a magnetized watch behave like that ? Again, as I said, the watch can run almost with no deviation for a few days and then loose between 2 to 10 minutes in less than 24 hours! Any help would be appreciated.Thanks
