Looks brand spankin new!
As most of you know it's been a long road since I sent my watch in for repair to the APSC in Clearwater. Many of you followed the saga and aware of the long story and drama around it. For those of you that didn't read about it, here's a quick and simple drama-free recap: At the beginning of February 2012 I sent my watch to APSC Clearwater and they quoted me a very crazy amount for the service ($4800). After a ton of drama, I asked them to send the piece directly to Le Brassus for a new estimate and potential repair directly in Switzerland. Fast forward to April 2012, I received a decent estimate on the service ($2800) and proceeded to get the service done directly by Le Brassus. My 5402SA is from 1976-1977 and is from the first batch of TT Royal Oak Jumbos ever made. My serial is under 300. We are talking here about a highly collectable and desirable Royal Oak. Hopefully the mods will give me some latitude here as this isn't strictly PP related, but I wanted to share with my friends on the PP forum that I got engaged last night! I managed to make it to 42 years old without being married, but I am finally growing up! I thoughts watches were expensive until I discovered the world of diamonds! Sub Went on an Adventure
Here's how the day starts....Standard morning except the kids don't have school so they are sleeping in. I get up and jump in the shower, some new bar of soap in there, smells nice. Seems it's going to be a good day. Hop out, dry off, start getting dressed and head to the bedroom for my wallet and whatnot. Go to the nightstand for my five day old Hulk, yep, it's not there. Slight panic sets in, but it has to be around here somewhere. I have a new carpet coming in a week or two so there have been samples floating around the house for a few weeks. I've been resting my watches on those at night, dumb I know but my watches appreciate it. Where my Hulk one rested there is a rock. Not any rock, but a paperweight rock with Dad You Rock painted on it from a father's day a few years ago.I love that rock, but it's not my Sub. I look around, it's not anywhere.
