Review: Orient FERAP002W "Masquerade"
After having spent a few weeks wearing the Orient Masquerade I can confidently say that this is a great watch. It is built well, looks great, feels good to wear, is very unique and is quite affordable. I covered many of my opinions in my initial impressions a couple of weeks ago, but wanted to present some more substantial views here.Case: Stainless Steel w/ IP CoatingMovement: Orient Caliber 46S50 21 Jewel Automatic w/ dateDial: Multi-layeredLens: Mineral CrystalCase Back: Polished Stainless SteelStrap: Beige Genuine LeatherWater Res.: 5atm (50m/150f)Dimensions (rectangular): 46m x 35m (38 w/crown)Thickness: 12mmLug Width: 25mmWarranty: 1 year international guaranteeThe Masquerade is a well-built watch with a confidence inspiring weight to it. The body is primarily a single solid chunk of IP coated steel that maintains a thickness of at least 1/8 inch all around giving no part of the case any fragility. The body is basically a rectangle with various bevels on, short fat lugs and a cur
London Exhibition - many photos!
Hi allI was fortunate to attend a private party last night and it is a fantastic exhibition! I was in fact so busy looking at the watches, chatting and taking pictures that I missed out on supper lol. It really was amazing and I thought I would share some pictures of some watches that we don't see everyday. There was one watch that one guest let me take a picture of (the only wrist shot). It was stunning in reality, does anyone have any details about it? The owner told me only four were made. Have a great weekend. CheersAnujSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
went to the Patek Philippe museum Wednesday.
FYI: if you're ever in geneva, and you consider yourself a watch nut, you owe it to yourself to go to the Patek Philippe museum. its collection of timepieces, which ranges from the 16th century to today, is unmatched anywhere in the world. three floors of pateks, breguets and hundreds upon hundreds of other masterpieces, including early 19th century automatons that will absolutely blow your mind. (the bird gun may be one of the greatest achievements of design and engineering known to man).seriously - if you're even close to switzerland, make a side trip. you'll be glad you did!

Started out a couple weeks ago with the new Radiomir 572. Last week I attended a Panerai evening event at a local AD. Today this arrived, the Luminor 372. They make a great pair. And I'm already thinking about going gold! Just a thought for now.
Don't Buy A Gold Sub (like the 116619)!!!
Started out as a perfectly happy owner of a Sub-C.Watch for everything. Gym, or riding dirt bikes in random Asian jungles, paragliding in Nepal, 4AM in seedy strip clubs in Bangkok, afterparties in Budapest. Normal life and all. You name it, a plain black steel sub blends right in. Nobody notices. And you're not going to break it. (and if you do, so what ... laser welding & parts available for everything quite easily)But then one starts thinking (bad move as usual). What about something just a little ... nicer? More unique? A little more ... pop?Read up on options that would suit the lifestyle. Ruling out anything without crown guards, basically. GMT would be nice, lot of time zone changes. Or Sub just because. Poked the head in the door at various dealer in Hong Kong. BLRO eliminated, the black dial just didn't really do it in person. The rose gold Daytona though, chocolate dial. Wow. But that's a little too fancy for border crossings in Burma. Or anywhere. Then s
