The Wearables Arrive: The Scoop on All the New Smartwatches From Baselworld 2015
According to an old joke, Albert Einstein once said that he wanted to die in Switzerland, not elsewhere, because everything happens 20 years later there. This year, Baselworld proved Einstein wrong: the array of smartwatches on display proved the Swiss can be as up-to-date as anyone. Here's a rundown of some of the smartwatches that debuted, or whose upcoming debut was announced, at this year’s Baselworld watch fair (most, but not all, come from Swiss brands):? Sister brands Frdrique Constant and Alpina both showed analog watches that connect with apps on an Apple or Android phone, enabling the wearer to track his or her physical activity and sleep. The wearer can see data for sleep and activity in a subdial at 6 o'clock, and in more detail, on the phone. The watch, called the Horological Smartwatch, also alerts the wearer when he or she has been sitting too long and needs to get some exercise (more info here). Incoming Arrived
I'm very impressed having bought this watch without ever trying it on, perfect on the wrist and looks sharp but understated at the same time.20160510_135820.jpg20160510_135836.jpg20160510_135829.jpg
15300 to 5711, would you ?
Hi guys.I have been tempted lately by a little devil. I am thinking of maybe trading the 15300 white dial for a PP5711 white dial. Reason is not a financial one, it is mainly that I am not a man of many watches and I am thinking of diverting the funds for a datograph later on. Collection would be 2 to 3 watches at most but looking for true gems.Would you, would you not and the reason for it. Not that I don't like my 15300, far from it, I love it ! I am just thinking of jumping on the Patek world with a nice opportunity I have. I have always admired Patek for craftsmanship, exclusivity, under the radar and absolute beauty. Same apply to my AP in my opinion, but I am considering this opportunity I have.Let me know what you think.
Half-Link for Perfect SubC Bracelet Fit?
I found the half-link of the SS SubC bracelet key to centering the long clasp on the bottom of my small wrist. I've read that half-links are not standard on the TT and PM SubC bracelets but are, instead, extra cost items that can be ordered from Rolex. If that's true, then TT and PM SubC bracelets must be shorter (probably) or longer than SS SubC bracelets. For those who have owned either a TT or PM SubC (especially those with small wrists) have you found it more difficult to achieve a good fit than with an SS SubC?
