The Britains are Coming: Burberry’s New Watch Collection
Following in the footsteps of brands like Ralph Lauren, Herm��s and Louis Vuitton, all of which have made moves to enhance the perception of so-called fashion watches, the British fashion house Burberry is releasing a new high-end wristwatch collection with Swiss movements, called the Britain. Designed by Burberry’s chief creative director Christopher Bailey, the watches evoke the look of the brand’s most famous contribution to the fashion world, the iconic Burberry trench coat. The cases have a rounded octagonal shape and a multi-faceted three-part construction; four custom-designed bolts, inspired by the buttons on the trench coat and screwed down by hand, fasten the bezel to the case middle and caseback. The casebacks have a domed design inspired by those of classical British pocketwatches and, in the models with mechanical movements, see-through exhibition casebacks of sapphire crystal. Pebble Time Round Watch
When it comes to the smart watch segment, you have a multitude of options these days. One of the earlier brands to hit the scene was Pebble, with their selling point being the e-ink screen that was, for one, always on and, second, made for some long battery life. All of their previous offerings have been more of a square or rectangle, which sort of conforms to the rectangular slab aesthetic we have come to expect from the phone manufacturers. When it comes to watches, there is something that just feels "more right" when it is a round case �C and the folks at Pebble must agree, as they have just announced the Pebble Time Round.Round is obviously the story here - the Pebble Time Round looks more like a traditional watch. World Time: 5110, 5130 or 5230?
Which World Timer do you prefer? The oldest 5110 at 37mm, the 5130 at 39.5mm, or the latest 5230 at 38.5mm?Personally I have to say I like the cleaner dial of the 5130 compared to the new 5230. I also prefer the larger size.

It's not a secret that the watch industry is in trouble for the momentSome brands do barely sell watches, others offer models in steel that used to be in gold, or some brands use lesser finished movementsOr look wat lange did with the 'cheap' smaller saxoniaAll of this to survive in these hard timesWell I had contact with some Patek dealers and Patek is lowering the production. an AD get's lists with watches they will get in the next weeks / monthsThe last 'list' was was one with quite some cancelled watches.For example, the AD was promised 5 world timers , 3 Nautilus, 4 chronos and 9 Calatrava ... 5 went to 4, 3 became 2 etcI guess they don't want too much stock at the ADSo probably some sought after pieces with waiting lists will even be harder to get
