First AP. Need advice on purchase.
Hello everyone I'm looking to buy my first AP (Royal oak SS 41mm 15400) here at the AD in Hawaii. I've always loved this watch, but wasn't planning to purchase it on my trip. I happened to come across the AP store at the T Galleria, and they offered me 10% off, and since it's duty and tax free I thought this might be a good deal. I'm from Canada where we typically have 13% tax as well. I cannot find the MSRP pricing on this in canada, and I'm also looking for advice on whether 10% off is good or not. My Superocean is going in for a much needed service and refurb. Would it be possible to get it changed from brushed to polished?They did do a polished version from new but didn't know if they would do it under the cost of a refurb.
Brushing Titanium PCLs? (Speedmaster 57)
Hi all,After seeing it in person, the Speedmaster 57 (Titanium on Titanium) is a really beautiful watch.As you know, the center links of the Titanium bracelet are polished, just like the Stainless Steel version. Right now, I like the PCLs, but I was wondering if I wanted to in the future, one could brush the center links to match the brushed look of the outer links.I've read that an AD could do that fairly easily on a Speedmaster 57 stainless steel bracelet, but I'm wondering if the same is true for a Titanium bracelet or would it be a more difficult (or possibly easier?) job because of the different metal characteristics. Any info would be appreciated.Thanks.
