Bell & Ross BR01-96 And BR01-97 Limited Edition Commando Watches
More with the gray watches it seems. I've been writing about this trend pretty extensively on Luxistwatches-dealer, but it has finally come to Bell & Ross. Actually I knew this since Baselworld back in March, but only now it connected with me that this is all part of the gray watch conspiracy - and watch companies are always bitching about the gray market. Irony? These two new pretty watches are part of a limited edition of just 500 pieces each and are part of the Commando watches that Bell & Ross will offer. Commando meaning gray in this instance. Maybe this is the perfect urban combat camouflage watch? We are familiar with the models as well. These are the big date and power reserve versions of the Bell & Ross BR01, or rather the BR01-96, and the BR01-97. The dials also make it clear that the watches are part of a limited edition. The Big Date has an automatic ETA 2896, while the power reserve model has an ETA 2897.The black on the hands and indexes contrast well with the
AP is disappointing in this respect...
Hey everyone,I really want or I should say wanted to get an AP sports watch, but doing research they really do not make many or any durable and scratch resistant watches anymore especially in 42 or smaller (not including discontinued models). They discontinued the ceramic divers, discontinued forged carbon and currently all you can get is steel or rose gold in the 42 or less size (according to guy at the AP boutique).I just don't get why AP doesn't make a watch that is Richard Mille-like in durability, scratch resistance and shock absorption, considering how closely they work with RM.Just venting a little, but considering the popularity of RM, you would think AP would make some middle tier priced durable, light weight and scratch resistant high end sports watches in 42mm (or even 44 for that matter).I am saving for a RM 055, because their ceramic is 1400 vickers (more scratch resistant than rolex which is 1200), it's light weight, comfortable (some say most comfortable watch they have
Santa's Early
I just checked the UPS site and my new 3570.50 is out for delivery and I should get it before the end of the day!A big, special thanks to Father John for his advice. Merry Christmas!
Come to Papa.
Well I thought my 5712 would be my one and only Patek, how foolish of me, so I just got a second one today, not the most loved model of Nautilus on the forum, but my second favorite Patek after the 5712 and before the 5167R.Hesitated on taking the 5167R, for the diversity factor, 1 Aquanaut and 1 Nautilus, but putting 25K euros minimum which is 10K just for going from SS to RG was a little too much IMO, so I went for the complications once again and after 1 hour am very pleased, I prefer the bracelet model but since I already have a bracelet Nautilus I thought strap was a better option, now it's on the alligator strap but planning to get a dark grey rubber strap from ABP in Paris.Anyways here are some pics, sorry I'm not a very good photograph when it comes to watches, I'm much better taking pics of buildings, landscapes or people…P1000717.JPGP1000721.JPGP1000724.JPGP1000725.JPG
Air King 116900 and Basel ?
Have been thinking about picking up an Air King in the next couple of weeks. While I have read a lot of prognostications about upcoming Rolex changes/discontinuations here and elsewhere, there is not too much about this model, maybe due to its price point. Since it seems like a lot of Rolex traditionalists don't have mad love for this model, or regard it as kind of a meh due to the dial, (I personally like it), I am wondering if members feel Rolex may respond by modifying or discontinuing this particular version come Basel in March. What are your thoughts?
