Patrizzi & Co. Geneva Auction Brings Over $6.2 Million
In the month leading up to the Patrizzi & Co. auction on October 25, more than 3,500 people visited the house’s web site each day to research items included in the sale. On sale day in Geneva, about 60 bidders were present in the auction room and another 45 participated online. 70% of the 253 lots were sold in two sessions, achieving CHF6,345,600 or about $6,230,525. Bidders from Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the USA were present in the auction room. The top selling brands were Patek Philippe, Cartier, Rolex, and Panerai. Modern pieces from Ulysse Nardin and TAG Heuer also sold very well. Commenting on the sale results, Osvaldo Patrizzi said Today we have seen a change take place in the market. Automatic transmissions were decorated nice swiss ETA movements
I was quite surprised to discover that the Versace watches were held by the Timex group. I consider the purchase of one of them for my girlfriend for some time and have actually owned a couple you have seen on the face of my previous articles. These automatic transmissions were decorated nice swiss ETA movements in them, it's not really something I would have associated with the Timex brand.
Review: Archimede Outdoor Automatic Sport
For those of you familiar with the Archimede watch brand, you very well may think immediately of their beautiful line of traditional pilot watches, for which they are best known. But today we're bringing you a review of an Archimede that breaks that mold. The Outdoor Automatic Sport is a nimble, sporty offering that maintains simple yet attractive styling and transitions well from the outdoors to the office. And while the Outdoor isn’t new to the Archimde lineup, it proves that the Archimede brand is committed to releasing quality pieces at very competitive prices. While the Archimede brand may be young, having been founded in 2003, the watch manufacturer behind it – Ickler – has been producing quality timepieces since 1924 in Pforzheim, Germany. As stated, the brand is best known for their pilot watches, which come in both three hand and chrono versions, ranging in size 36 to 45 mm and feature quality Swiss movements. Most importantly, the price point on these pieces
Omega Seamaster 1959 Service
Just received my 1959 Seamaster back from service. It was sent to Switzerland and I'm really happy with the results. Was previously losing 5 minutes per day and had serious issues with the crown. It looks and feels brand new now!Wanted to share...
BaselWorld 2017 Steel GMT Master II "pepsi"
Just saw the new Rolex pieces for 2018. Probably the most talked about piece if the new steel GMT Master II pepsi bevel with the jubilee bracelet. My question is whether the watch is identical to the BLRO 18K white gold outside of material. In other words, would you be able to retrofit the new watch out with an oyster bracelet? Also, will this be as mysterious as the ceramic steel Daytona to obtain? I hear about these crazy waiting lists for the Daytona yet I see them all over instagram every day? Does every predict the new Steel GMT will be as elusive?Side note. The original root beer GMTs had a brown and gold bezel. Why the change to black and brown? Why not stay classic?
