WatchCo Omega
For years I've been itching for a WatchCo Omega Seamaster 300 nos/repoduction 1960's vintage diver. Have read all the search results, pros and cons, from a couple of forums and I'm considering rolling the dice. The one question I have'nt had any luck with is what to expect from Canada Customs regarding an Omega from Australia ? How big a $$ hit can I expect, and this is my OCD working overtime, could customs decide the watch is fake, not understanding nos, or reproduction with original parts ?Any imput, positive or negative will be appreciated.
5711 and 5712
Hi guys. How do your feel about having both a 5711a blue and 5712a in a collection? Already own a 5712a and probably going to be offered a 5711a soon. Would a 5524 be a better addition? Was shown one at the AD, and boy it looks fantastic in the flesh.
Pre Owned London
Hi,I'm off to the city next week. I'm not looking to buy as I've just bought a 5146g but always like having a look.Any recommendations on where to go?
Patek Philippe 5167 (XL 40 mm) Aquanaut
Since I saw recently a few posts about Patek and the Aquanaut , here's my contribution.I must say that I did not like the Aquanaut nor the Nautilus 3 years ago.But your mind can change :)4 Months ago when the introduced the new 5167 I had the impression I could like that watch.I liked the dial a lot more than the previous dial.So I called my dealer and ordered one.I september 2007 I got the call. I went to his store, tried the watch ... and bought it.It's gorgeousImo you can wear it as a dress watch (with the leather strap) and as a sportswatch with the original rubber strap. The finishing is like one would expect from Patek : PERFECTThe movement is the 315 (which will be rare).Only the first 2 or 3 months they were delivered with the 315, all the others in the years to come will have the calibre 324Anyway, here are some pics
Waiting list myth - Sky Dweller
There is some very curious behaviour from AD's at the moment, specifically their complete fabrication of waiting lists.Summary version of events;Friend and I pop into an AD in London last Saturday. Him wearing a submariner, me in a GMT Master - hopefully gives the impression of serious buyers. He looks at a couple of bi metal options which didn't float his boat, only for the AD to say I've got something I can show you but it's for another customer, but have a look. They present the bi metal (YG and SS) Sky Dweller with black dial - absolutely beautiful. He tries it on, says he wants to buy it and they say it's a 2 year wait but I can take your number.Next day (last Sunday) I email the AD I have a relationship with (I've bought circa 5 watches from them since 2014 and am on a list for a Patek 5711, so I am not their biggest customer by any stretch but have a good relationship there). He replies saying he is on leave but will respond Weds.He emails Weds telling me he can get one, and it'll b
