Breaking News: Impressive Results For Richard Mille And F.P. Journe At Only Watch
It was a given from the beginning that the Patek Phillipe was going to be the top priced lot of the day here at the Only Watch auction. The question was which watch would take 2nd place. The two top contenders were the Richard Mille Tourbillon RM 27-02 Rafael Nadal and the F.P. Journe Tourbillon Souverain Bleu. The Richard Mille had the advantage of being based on a watch that has a much higher list price (about $800k), and (and this does matter to some) the exact watch in the sale today is a prototype that was actually game – worn by Nadal during the 2015 season including at the French Open, Wimbledon, and the U.S. Open. The Journe in comparison is based on a watch with a list price of about $170,000, albeit in a cool tantalum case with beautiful blue chrome dial. 1 OF 2 The results are in, and the combination of the Mille normally retailing for 4.5 times more, and having celebrity/game worn provenance, was the winning combination. The Mille brought in 650,000 C
New Omega Store in Denver, CO
My wife and I were out at the Cherry Creek Mall today and stopped in the new Omega store / boutique. It opened about 6 weeks ago and they are very friendly. They are adjacent to and associated with Hyde Park Jewelers, so I don't think they are actually a boutique because those are all company owned, right? Either way, they are a stand along Omega store, yet have a pass through into the adjacent Hyde Park store. Really liked this Speedmaster. And this titanium Planet Ocean with the blue dial/bezel was super nice! Tried on a few DeVille dress watches too...They also gave me an Omega catalog and a copy of the most recent Omega Lifetime magazine which looks to have some great content in it. Looking forward to going through that in more detail as time allows. I also found that Omega has an App for both Androids and iPhones that has the majority of the Omega product line in it as well as info on their ambassadors. I will be going back to visit that store again. They know their product a
How much for these Omegas?
Im not talking about any watch in particular, but I was wondering how much you would expect to pay for the Planet Ocean, Chrono and Non-Chrono, in the 42mm and 45mm sizes, pre-owned and say 6 months old. With the black bezel. So, pre-owned;42mm PO non-chrono45mm PO non-chrono45mm PO chronoThese watches are still whispering to me - just not at their AD prices! Thanks guys!
Anyone notice
How much the new Mont Blanc 1858 looks similar to the 5524?https://.hodinkee/articles/mo...ze-introducingMaybe Richemont is running out of ideas?
2 Iconic pieces
I know this has been a recurrent subject here, but I wanted to know what do you think of these 2 pieces, knowing that they are the 2 Genta Icons, of course the RO is much closer to the original, as far as I know the new model is practically the same as the original but with a see through case back, whereas the Nautilus is quite different, the original didn't have a seconds hand, and the case back was also non transparent. I remember when I started to look into AP and PP, around 1,5 years ago, the 2 were priced very differently, the 5711 much more expensive, but now when I look on Chrono 24 it still is but the difference is much less than before.Strangely enough when I see both on pics but separately I tend to find the RO more beautiful, but when I see both next to each other on the same pic, maybe Ken could post one or two as I know he has some, I find the Nautilus more beautiful.Of course the RO is more industrial and more sporty looking, when the 5711 is IMHO pure class and elegance.
