Nomos for Doctors Without Borders
Not often enough do watch brands commit to donating a portion of profits to charity. Sure, there are auctions here and there that go towards foundations, but generally speaking it's not common enough practice. That is part of what makes the Nomos Doctors Without Borders (Medics San Frontieres) watches so exciting. This limited edition of 2,000 watches will contribute $100 per sale from the Nomos and retail end to this great charity, for a total of $200k. And this isn't a one-time deal either. Nomos has issued both German and UK variants of the watch, so the total amount being given is much higher. The other part?.. Well, simply that these are great looking watches by one of our favorite brands, and even though this is a limited edition with unique design elements they don't cost more than the regular model. The Doctors Without Borders US edition will consist of 1,000 Tangente 38's and 1,000 Tangente 33's for $2,140 and $1,840 respectively. The unique design features of this edition includ
In-Depth: The Chopard Group Launches La Chronomtrie Ferdinand Berthoud, And FB 1, A Marine Chronometer For The Wrist
On September 22nd, the Chopard Group (which includes Chopard, the watch and jewelry maison, as well as Fleurier Ebauches, SA, the movement manufacturer) announced the very first timepiece from La Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud. La Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud is a new business for the Group – it was first announced in 2013, and its first wristwatch represents what co-presidents Karl-Friedrich Scheufele and Caroline Scheufele (brother and sister) hope will be the first in a series of wristwatches inspired by the life and work of Ferdinand Berthoud. These watches are intended to be a no-holds-barred exercise in luxury watchmaking, and will occupy a commensurate price point, but according to Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, whom we interviewed at the launch event at the Yacht Club de France, Chopard also hopes to stimulate interest in, and awareness of, one of the most important figures in the history and evolution of the marine chronometer. 1 OF 17 Ferdinand

Will Omega Fail time for a Vote
There has been lots of threads and remarks about the greed and stratergy of the Boutique route Omega has taken. Like many of us I have witnessed empty Boutiques in London on a Saturday surely this must be their busiest day, where it feels very strange and almost like your every move is being monitored. Not an nice feeling. Anyway I'd Love to know what your feelings are about whether Omega will succeed or fail and revert back to ADs to sell their watches for them.
Pam 590??
Am thinking about adding this model to my collection. Think its face is real cool and unique while also a very limited US collection available.Anybody have any thoughts or pics?
