Duesenberg Circular & Rectangular Art Deco Watches
Good thing it is a German speaker (Swiss German) who revived the Duesenberg name! The brand with the same name as the classic car that almost epitomized F. Scott Fitzgerald era art deco cars has two new models that will come out in 2011. The watches are the Duesenberg Rectangular and Duesenberg Circular. Can you guess which is one is each!? The design really does feel as though it hails from the roaring 1920's. Why is it that the past always seem to be have been better than it actually was? I am really fascinated by the "grass is greener in that other era syndrome." Anyhow, let's focus on these upcoming watches from Frenkendorf, Switzerland (they also have a Austrian location).Silly little things like prices aren't known yet, but we do know that the cases will have materials such as 18k red gold, DLC black coated steel, polished steel, and titanium. See those "grill" like sections on the top and bottoms of the case? Those sections are partially removable if you want to change-it-up in
Alpina Goes Vintage with the Seastrong Diver Heritage
The popularity of ‘heritage’ models from established watch manufactures is still going strong this year at Baselworld 2016, and Alpina has joined the fray with a strong entry. In 1967 Alpina produced an EPSA Super Compressor cased diver called the Alpina 10. This was one of many Super Compressor divers made during that era, and the Alpina 10 is a rare and desirable model for collectors these days. Now nearly 50 years later, Alpina has launched the Seastrong Diver Heritage, and modern interpretation of that classic Alpina 10. Much like Longines did with the Legend Diver, Alpina has taken their vintage classic and given it a modern update. The Seastrong Diver Heritage is a sleek and understated diver. The stainless steel case is 42mm wide and 12.3mm thick and will have a sapphire BOX crystal, with a water resistance of 30 bar or 1000ft. This makes it much larger than the original, but as wrist shots show, it fits very nicely, and wears a bit smaller than expected. The caseback
Introducing: The New F.P. Journe Octa Divine, With A Redesigned Dial And Larger Case
While SIHH 2016 is certainly the main topic in the watch world right now, it is not the only game in town when it comes to watch announcements this week. F.P. Journe has announced an update of their Octa Divine watch. You may recall that earlier this year F.P. Journe released a box set to commemorate the end of their production of 38 mm watches. In tandem with dropping the 38 mm size, Journe is also doing a piece-by-piece redesign of the collection. The thought with the redesign is that the old version will be discontinued, and the new version of the watch will available in 40 mm and 42 mm sizes. In order to do this, the dial needs to be redesigned because it wouldn’t look right to simply put the same dial in a larger case. Last year the Octa Lune was redesigned, and this year it's time for a redesign of the Lune’s sister watch, the Octa Divine. 1 OF 1 The new Octa Divine is generally a larger version of the old Divine with a few tweaks. It ha
How do you insure....
Here is my Speedy. I love it, never seen another like it on anyone. My problem is, how do I insure it. I know I will never get another the same. Does this make it more valuable? Or do I go with a price for a normal Speedy? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
bracelet conversion
Hi all.Would the bracelet off of a 236 fit a 196? Except for the brushed case and black outlined hands, they seem to be identical..?
