Movado Group Announces Results and Retail Boutique Closings
Movado Group, Inc. has announced its first quarter results. The company enjoyed top-line growth of 25%, though the bottom line did not fair as well, with an adjusted net loss of $4.8 million. The company also announced that it will close its retail boutique division effective June 30, 2010 in an effort to redirect investment toward higher return businesses. The move does not affect the company’s 31 outlet stores, nor will it affect the company’s flagship Movado Boutique in New York’s Rockefeller Center. Regarding the boutique closings, Rick Cote, President and Chief Operating Officer of Movado Group, Inc., said, “Following several years of unprofitability and a strategic review of the business, we have decided to close our retail boutique division. We believe that this action will assist Movado Group to return U.S. operations to profitability. We will continue to make strategic investments in our brands to capitalize on growth prospects, build market share and e
Introducing: The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Chronograph 45.5mm, Omega's First METAS Certified Master Chronograph
The Planet Ocean Collection was first launched in 2005 and has become a mainstay, in the last 10 years, of Omega's sports watch collections. This year Omega has released a brand new Planet Ocean 45.5 mm Chronograph, with a new co-axial chronograph movement (METAS/Master Chronometer certified, a first for Omega chronographs) and in new materials. It's one of three Master Chronometer certified Seamasters in the new-for-2015 Seamaster Planet Ocean Master Chronometer Collection, along with the new Seamaster Planet Ocean 43.5 mm Auto, and the Seamaster Planet Ocean 43.5 mm GMT. As you may know, the current Planet Ocean Chronograph 45.5 mm features the co-axial caliber 9300 movement in titanium with blue dial and bezel. This year's Baselworld release features a new movement: the automatic co-axial chronometer caliber 9901/9900. This is one of the first generation of movements to be certified by METAS (the Swiss Federal institute of Metrology) and thus, one of the first generation (alo
send watch to panerai for service or local?
So I'm in Chicago and wanted to get my Pam 392 serviced, there is a slight scuff on the bezel and the tiniest of chips on the crystal. Its been running just a tad slow since I got it and I just picked up another watch so figured I would get this serviced so its perfect. Question is should I send to Panerai? I heard they are pretty pricey and could take awhile. Or have a local watchmaker take a look (if I go this route he won't replace the crystal, would need to send it to panerai to get a authentic panerai crystal is what one guy said) also any recommendations for someone in Chicago to work on it?I'm thinking of selling it too so want it nice if I decide to go that route, is it even worth refinishing or selling as is? I'm the original owner and have the box and all paperwork so it should make it easier.
16013 swapped dial rsc?
Hey guys,I used to have champagne linen dial for my 16013 but I changed it to black gloss dial. If I bring this watch to RSC, would they reject the watch and not service it?
AD called but not the call I was hoping for!
I am at the top of the list at my AD for the white face Daytona so when I received a call I jumped! Unfortunately, it was not for the Daytonac. They offered me the SD50. It is a watch I am interested in but prefer the Daytona. I truly feel like my collection is almost complete. Here's a pic of my collection. What say you guys? Add the SD50 or not?
