Traveling with ROC - bracelet woes
I'm wrapping up an awesome spring break in Arizona and for the first time traveling took my ROC on its bracelet. At home, I've found it great for everyday wear but during my travels, I have run into wrist swelling problems. And of course with no micro-adjusting clasp, there were times I just couldn't wear it. I don't know all of the physiology, but am guessing the frequent changes in altitude and hydration make your wrist change in size frequently.I don't really want to bring a watch kit (screwdrivers, extra links, etc) when I travel. So in the future, I'm wondering if this is a time to put it on a strap or go with another watch altogether. The low WR rating is also a reason it may not be an ideal single travel watch. I love my ROC, but it doesn't do me any good in its travel box. I know there are a lot of frequent travelers on TRF so was wondering what others do in this situation. It took me many years but FINALLY it arrived
Not only did it took several years, it also costed me savings, other watches I had to sell, and arm and a leg, kidney's etc :-)But when AD called me and told me my watch finally arrived I forget about the watches I sold and couldn't stop smiling it looks good when you see pics on the net but irl . a MASTERPIECEthe back isn't bad neither LOL but in case of such a watch, it's all about the dial
The stars alligned in Bangkok...
After two and a half months traveling in Shanghai, Singapore, Bangkok, with ten or so visits to Rolex shops, I'd only seen a few sports/professional models available. On the way to the gate at BKK the King Power Rolex Boutique came in to view. One more walk through a Rolex shop I thought. It looked like a fairly large selection in the shop, but pretty much the usual. On the way out the sales person looked at me and said they just got in a couple professional models. One was a Sea Dweller. At 363,100 baht it seemed a lower price than I would have expected. The wheels started spinning and pretty much had to go for it. I asked if there would be any tax and there was none. Whipped out the CSR visa and the rest is history. Airport shops might be a fairly good place to check as he said they don't keep any lists.
