Longio 1000m Diving Tourbillon Watch
Remember the Chinese watch maker Longio? I talked about them here when discussing their first tourbillon watches. I applauded the Hong Kong based watch maker for having the courage to thrust itself in the tourbillon watch market that is dominated by European watch companies that have the process down pretty well. China's strength is in ingenuity and keeping costs low. The highly sought after tourbillon complication could be had from Longio at a fraction of what the European makers charge. Not that Chinese tourbillon watches are a replacement for the Europeans, but it is was certainly a knock on the door of the stalwart giants. Now comes Longio's second tourbillon watch, the yet to be properly named 1000m Diving Tourbillon. Diver tourbillon watches aren't new, but this combination of 1000m water resistant case, sporty looks, and cost of about $8,000 simply cannot be found in any European watch for double, triple, or even quadruple the cost. In fact most European diving tourbillon watches
The skeleton pods is a very interesting design on a Patek watch element
On the case are proofreaders for calendar information. Watch a profile of the watch that you can say that this is not any which case of Patek Philippe Watches. For the first time (that I noticed), the pods are skeleton. A very interesting design on a Patek watch element. Another detail is the establishment of a small diamond on the case between the lugs at 06. The shows it attached to a black alligator strap and comes with a matching Platinum deployment clasp. Quite impressive exhibit which step to become a desired to collect in the years to come.
Historical Perspectives: A Look At The Horological Society Of New York, Owners Of A Unique Watchmaking Library, And The Oldest Horological Society In The United States
Twenty-one years ago the Bulova School of Watchmaking in New York City closed its doors. As the staff was cleaning and packing, they came across an extensive library of horological books and ephemera. Some of the books were hand-bound in leather, adorned in gold leaf, with personal dedications from the authors. Others were extremely old, dating from the 18th century. In addition, they found hand-calligraphed meeting minutes and accounting records. All of these items comprised an incredible horological resource and they were not sure what to do with them. The staff needed to be out of the building at the end of the day and hand over the keys. Urgent calls were made and that same day a large van arrived to retrieve the library. The books were quickly piled into the van and driven off. Storage was found in NYC’s Upper West Side and the library was locked away for decades. 2 OF 14 The library in question is one of the largest collections of rare horological texts in the

Buying Frustration Vent...
Here's the scenario I find a grail. I have the cash. I'm ready to buy. I talk to the seller first. We agree on a price. Just as I'm about to pay, another buyer appears and offers more. I'm short the additional $300. I lose the watch. It's not the end of the world. I buy a few fun pieces and lick my wounds. I then notice the buyer flashing his new purchase in every forum. Mildly annoyed. Read some of the buyers posts and see that this person is a serial flipper . Nothing wrong with that. Then I notice the serial flipper lists my grail-for a damn bargain-well under what I was willing to pay 2 weeks back....Nice Gent!!!!!!However, my cash is now gone from buying a few fun pieces to cheer myself up. I see the grail sell within minutes. In real time. Drag. I won't get into specifics because it's not anyone's fault and all involved are good people. Timing just wasn't on my side. Vent over :)
