Raven Watches Vintage 42mm
If you like vintage diver designs, specifically the early days of the Rolex Submariner, but not current vintage diver prices, Raven Watches has something you should see. The company, part of STEVRAL who also owns Benarus, recently release their new Raven Vintage 42mm. The name sets up what you are getting right away: vintage design cues in a modern, 42mm case. Some of the hard to find Rolex Submariners are the early non-crown guard models (6536 & 6538) and the military models with ?sword hands (5513 & 5517). The Raven Vintage 42mm combines elements from these ?models into this release. The case size of the Raven Vintage 42mm is clear in the title, with the lug-to-lug length coming in at a reasonable 50mm. Like the early Submariners the Raven has a large crown without crown guards. It really captures the look and spirit of those early watches, although the crown on the Raven is not quite as large. The domed acrylic crystal puts the height of the watch in at a thick 15.5mm, but it
Dinner with my AP ROO
Sometimes i take my panda out to dinner just to let her know how much I adore her. Do any of you ever take your watches out to dinner
ROO vs Aquanaut
As my daily watch I currently have a Steel AP Royal Oak Offshore which I am looking to 'trade in' for something a little more fancy, I want a bit of rose gold in my daily watch! The obvious upgrade would be a 44mm rose gold Offshore, but I think it is just a little too much, though I absolutely love how it looks on it's own, not sure when I wear it...That leaves me looking today at the PP store and admiring the Rose Gold Aquanaut, 5164R.Whilst the ROO 44mm and 5164R are very different in style, I have somehow narrowed it down to these two! They both have rubber straps, rose gold, useful complications and are just beautiful watches. The PP is a slimmer design, so less likely to get knocked than the bulky ROO, but has a more easily scratched rose gold bezel, compared to the ROO's ceramic. The price of both is similar as I plan on buying brand new from my local AD, neither brand would offer discounts on list price.Any thoughts on either of these watches - particularly as a daily watch? I al
Panerai's with Sweep Second hands
Panerai's with sweep second hands are quite unusual with the brand. Normally when Panerai's show seconds it is a subdial. I noticed recently that the 63 has sweep seconds that work full time. I've seen some of the chronographs look like they might have sweep seconds but unless you examine them up close it is hard to tell.Other than the 63 and chronographs are there any Panerai's that have sweep second hands? Please respond if you know of any and I would love to see any pictures. Thanks much.
Explorer II 16570 value
Hey all I've been researching the Explorer II 16570..it's my first potential Rolex watch and right now I am wondering how the resale would be if I was to purchase a pre-owned 16570 and sold it in a couple years to upgrade to a submariner 116610 or GMT 116710. Are these pre-owned Explorer IIs holding their value??
