8 Things to Know About the Christophe Claret Allegro
At #baselworld 2015, Christophe Claret's headliner was the Allegro, a new minute repeater watch that boasts very fine craftsmanship and an extremely eye-catching movement. Here's what you need to know about the Le Locle brand's latest in order to stay up to date. 1. It comes from a very musical family.Watchmaker Christophe Claret has always been fond of minute repeaters; in fact, the first watch movement Claret designed, in 1989, was a minute repeater. The Allegro follows in this heritage. It is the third musical watch in the brand's Traditional Complications collection, following after the Adagio and Soprano models. However, it has a movement entirely its own. Caliber ALG89 is a manually wound caliber 34 mm in diameter. It has a grand total of 520 components. It beats at 21,600 vph. 2. The Allegro uses a smoked sapphire dial to highlight the workings of the repeater.A darkened, translucent dial offers many advantages for watch designers. In some sense, it's a happy medium
How To Mix And Match Colors With Your Watch, Like A Man
There is a kind of watch owner out there commonly referred to as the One watch guy'. Whether due to sentimental attachment, thrift or a single-minded love of a specific reference, they strap on the same timepiece day after day regardless of the rest of their attire or the social situations the day will bring.I have deep admiration for the One Watch Guy' to doggedly ignore or remain oblivious to the ocean of horological possibilities is darn difficult - though it does simplify the morning routine - but I will never be him, I love watches too much, my tastes are too wide, the acquisitive urge too strong and maybe I am just too indecisive. That said, being the Way Too Many Watches Guy' allows their owner to play a different game, that of using your watch purely as an accessory to the rest of your outfit. At first I wondered if this might be just a personal weakness but a steady trickle of images from Twitter and Instagram lead me to suspect I am not alone. What follows are not a set of r
Incoming Speedy Pro!
Had one a few years back and always regretted letting it go. I don't flip watches anymore, I just try to buy the right watch. I wanted to repurchase this iconic Speedy for at least a year and finally pulled the trigger after coming into some extra funds. I picked this up a few days ago thanks to a great transaction with our own DavidSW.I love the looks of this watch and its perfect for my casual style, yet also goes with anything except maybe a tux. I am looking for strap choices now. I do have an Omega black, perforated racing strap around here that I can't find, but I want to know what other strap choices I can go with. I prefer Omega, but am open to other strap makers. What is the millimeter for the strap? Is it 22mm or 20mm? I also have an Omega deployment buckle I can use too.

Facilitating a trade
hey gang. After much thought and careful consideration, I am looking to trade my Rolex Submariner two tone (Bluesy) for a no-holes GMT Pepsi that isn't buffed to a pulp.SO... this is where you all come in. How would one go about that? Is there a certain web dealer you would recommend? I have worked with DavidSW in the past and he is amazing but doesnt have one in stock. I would rather not post to the WTB section, I have heard that can be rather, lets say, more miss that hit!Any and all feedback is welcome. As always, thank you in advance!
