Patek Philippe Calatrava Travel Time Platinum Ref. 5134P Watch Available On JamesList
Here is a rare and unique looking Patek Philippe watch from a time that feels so long ago - when the economy was optimistic and the future seemed so bright, back in 2003. That was when this Calatrava Travel Time Platinum Ref. 5134P was originally released. Still shaken from the dot com bubble boom, no doubt a few people of the era picked up one of the nice watch. Even the looks of the watch is almost Patek Philippe's way of being optimistically futuristic. I think I'll start calling this watch the Time Travel, instead of Travel Time.As the name implies, this 37mm wide watch case is constructed out of Platinum with a very thin in-house made manually wound Patek Philippe movement with some interesting complications. Still the watch is only 9.8mm thick. Complications aside from the time include a synchronized 24 hour hand (basically to tell you whether it is day or night and to help you figure out the time in those place that use military time on the 24 hour scale), and a second timezone.

What to do with a white Speedy dial?
So, after searching high and low, east to west, I was able to get my hands on the white Speedy dial seen below. I'm ordering the black hands from Ofrei. Please reply with an open mind. Here are a few thoughts:* Mod it into my current sapphire sandwich?* Sell the sapphire and locate a low cost head only Speedy Pro and mod it in that? (Thus not modding a higher end model.)* Any other ideas? I wouldn't keep two Speedys (one of each dial)-- so that isn't an option financially. Thanks for your thoughts.

Sell the 16600 for the BLNR?
Hey guys.So the BLNR is my absolute grail watch. I currently own the 16600 SD and 16570 EXP II (which I will most likely never sell because it's my birth year). I have been thinking of trading the 16600 up to the BLNR, or selling it cash and buying a BLNR.I know the saying is don't flip just add in this forum. But currently I do not have the means to add, and I don't know if I will have the means to add a third Rolex in the foreseeable future. (I'm not in need of $. My savings must go toward other investments and I prefer a 2 watch collection)Pros about the SD that make me want to keep it:-When it was in production, it was rarely sold over the sub which in my eyes gives it more character it more valuable in the future (just my opinion)- M serial which means as far as I know it was produced in the final year of pre ceramic.- potential collector piece?
