15400 Grey or 26331 Panda for 1st AP
I've been a long time Rolex owner and after working my way through many of the models, I've decided to try something differentI'll be keeping my Daytona C, Hulk, BLNR and GMT Pepsi and I'm wondering which of two above to add. I like both equally but am wondering which would be the best buy. Is the chrono worth the 3-4k price difference, will one hold its value better than the other or any other advice / opinions you can giveI would be buying from on the grey market so would hope to save a bit on retailThanks in advancePICS STOLEN FROM .watchcollectinglifestyle . Bezel Swap for SMP Chrono
I took my SMP out of my closet after it sat for over 10 years. I noticed that the bezel which is chrome with blue numbers and markers have been chipped off some so I purchased a knock off bezel for $20 from eBay. The seller states the swap will be easy and will not require nothing more than a pocket knife. Well, I was able to remove the bezel with numerous tries, but can't seem to budge the insert off. I tried for half an hour and finally gave up. I am going to bring it to a jewelry store that offers watch repair to see if they can do the swap. Has anyone tried to do this themselves? Or have taken it to a repair shop for the job? Here is a pic of my watch.
Water resistance check
Hi AllRecently bought a PO which I'm delighted with! It has a co axial escapement meaning service times are lengthened to approx every 7/8 years. My question is regarding the seals, are they ok for this length of time or do they need checking every couple of years or so?and would this have to be sent back to Omega to check? As if yes this would defeat the object of increasing the service times. I'm using the watch for normal swimming ie not diving. Any ideas? Thanks
Dream achieved - Complicated Patek Philippe in Gold
Hello All,Thank you so much for the kind words and advice. After much thought and consideration I have purchased my new watch (new to me that is as it came from a vintage watch dealer). It is the fantastic Patek Philippe 5035 in Yellow Gold.I just could not pass up an Annual Calendar for a first Patek. I am so proud to have a complicated piece on my wrist.I also love the 24 hour display and the Romans sealed the deal. The watch was built around the 315 movement - not just a conversion to fashion like the 5146 which is simply a 5036 with added size (for no good reason that I can see). 37mm for a conservative dress watch is a great size!If I wanted a huge watch I would have bought an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Off-shore!I think the term traditional size fits the 37mm size. Infact the current model 5140 Perpetual Calendar is around this size also.I have seen articles on the net stating the 5035 has great investment potential. In fact a 5035 sold for more money than a 3940 in New York last
